Today we’d like to introduce you to Luke Gaffney.
Hi Luke, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Civil Steel started as the shared dream of a group of fabricators, artists and friends who, over cold beers after hot days, found that their complementary skill sets, diverse experiences and broad networks of happy clients overlapped to create a team capable of leaving its mark on the Texas landscape. When the opportunity arose to buy out an established fabricator who was leaving town for desert pastures, Civil Steel officially opened its doors in February 2021.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Having the trust of the fantastic clients we get to work with has made the process smoother than we could have imagined! Personally, though, years of honing my craft under the welding hood could never have fully prepared me for stepping into a leadership role on the design, administrative and operations side of the business. But we’re lucky enough to have an awesome crew of careful, capable and motivated fabricators who deliver quality products day after day, and I’m proud of all the work we’ve produced and the relationships we’ve forged along the way!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Civil Steel has cut its teeth on boutique hospitality products, small- to mid-sized commercial jobs and high-end residential projects, from the smallest building components to high-finish steel furniture packages to structural, architectural and landscape steel. Where we really excel, and why our phone keeps ringing, is our attention to detail, design and craft. We might not be the cheapest shop in town, but our list of happy clients speaks for itself.
