Today we’d like to introduce you to Anjelica Villanueva.
Hi Anjelica, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
The path that led me to today wasn’t always clear. Experiencing life with its challenges and joys, the vision to create jewelry formed only recently. When I was a young girl, I was inspired by people and characters with a lavish style and charisma. I’ve always felt drawn to the art of film, culture and fashion but I didn’t quite know my own sense of style or individual identity. Growing up in a single income household with siblings, I also didn’t have a way to financially support or express my love towards my own interests. I often found myself not feeling like I knew my purpose and pondering, “How will I leave a name for myself when I’m gone?”. As I got older, I appreciated the time it took to find myself and realized how important the little details were to create the bigger picture.
In late 2020, I knew I wanted to create something with my hands, that involved all aspects of my interests, and spirituality, but also accentuate an individual’s beauty. Which essentially led to the creation of Lovely Adornments in 2021. ‘Lovely’, meaning beauty that radiates grace and ‘Adornment’, meaning an accessory or ornament worn to beautify someone or something. Lovely Adornments launched in April 2022, containing semi-fine jewelry that is hand assembled using gold filled materials and semi-precious gemstones. I wanted to construct high quality semi-fine jewelry (and fine jewelry, in the future) to provide a variety of beautiful, affordable, and timeless pieces for everyone. Lovely Adornments gives me the chance to provide that lavish and elegant style to individuals, without feeling like they can’t afford it.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road is only as smooth as you make it, I choose to learn either way the road goes. Being a one woman, home-based business, the struggles of running a business from every aspect can be overwhelming at times. Challenges such as brand identity, self-doubt, finances, time management, and simply running a business while trying to figure everything else out in between occured along the journey. And I’m honestly still learning along the way! But as long as I discipline myself all while staying positive and humble, I know any struggle will turn into a strength within time. To be able to create a business based on my interests is a blessing, regardless of any challenges.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am the owner of Lovely Adornments. Lovely Adornments uses (14k, 18k, and 24k) gold filled accessories plus semi-precious gemstones (such as pearls, CZ’s, emeralds, aquamarine, kunzite, etc.) to construct intricate and meaningful jewelry. I run all aspects of my business, from designing the jewelry, fulfilling orders, marketing, finances, and every little thing in between. I specialize in making hand assembled jewelry and am currently learning metalsmithing to build my skills.
I’m most proud of proving to myself that I could do this no matter how many struggles come along the way. From learning from my mistakes, to consistently learning new things about the jewelry and business world, my skills only improve. This is exciting because I have a lot of ideas and hopes to expand the collections of Lovely Adornments, giving a variety of accessories to women and men in semi-fine and fine jewelry.
I would say what sets me apart from others is authenticity. I definitely try my best to be as original as possible when it comes to the design process; by building spiritual meaning through the jewelry with gemstones, all while keeping that lavish and lovely style. All my pieces are carefully thought out so they do not reflect similarities with other jewelry brands, creating a one of a kind, signature look.
