Rising Stars: Meet Kacy Middleton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kacy Middleton.

Hi Kacy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Ever since I was young I have always had an infectious friendly spirit and bubbly personality. Growing up I was a super outgoing kid and found joy in playing volleyball and running track. In high school is when I started to discover more of my passions such as fashion (or really what my parents would call a shopping addiction) and my faith. During COVID is when I started to look for a way to turn my love of clothes into a hobby and started following more fashion influencers. Then I started to shift my Instagram from a personal account into an influencer page. I know that the most important goal I have is to be a person who other people feel inspired by. For me, fashion is about showing what makes you, you! My style definitely represents who I am: a girlie girl who is bold but also likes to have fun. I am currently working on building my influencer page while stewarding a community of love and joy. I just want to make people smile and feel more confident in who God created them to be.

Aside from my blog, I am a full-time student at The University of Texas (Hook ‘Em!). It has always been a dream of mine to attend UT. I just completed my first year and have met so many amazing people through the different organizations I have joined. However, my first year on campus was very challenging. I have made so many mistakes, but the best part of making mistakes is learning from them and knowing that I serve a gracious God that still loves me. God seriously answers prayers, because I came onto the forty acres very nervous and was not sure if I would fit in, but I have been able to make lifelong friendships and memories. I have been able to grow in ways that I didn’t even know was possible.

Something that I have always valued growing up is my family. I have always had such an amazing support system through them all. My family continues to pour into me and they have each taught me so much about the Lord’s love for me. My biggest inspiration growing up has always been my grandmother, Noonie. She has always been my biggest cheerleader. I am so grateful for everything she has done for me. My grandmother has been a devoted Christian her whole life and has set a wonderful example of a Proverbs 31 woman. She has never failed to remind me how unique and approved I am in God’s eyes. I seriously could not be more grateful for her and my whole family.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Something I have always struggled with is my lack of self-confidence and comparison. Growing up I did not make perfect grades, the high school volleyball team, or a few clubs I tried out for which made me really doubt what I was capable of. I was always comparing myself to other people and questioning why I was not as pretty as some of the girls at my school or why I was not popular enough to have a lot of friends. I was just constantly doubting myself and it really hindered me from going after what I wanted. Praise God for who he is and what he has done for us. Because of my faith and prayer, I was really able to turn away from those lies I was believing and slowly began to build confidence. I stopped chasing the approval of others because I realized and accepted the fact that I am approved by the creator of all things. In Joshua 1:9 it states, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. I have such a strong desire to use my platform to help others feel confident in who they are because everyone has a unique gift that the world can benefit from.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
So currently I am a full-time student at UT Austin, but I am working on building my Instagram Page to become an Influencer and Blogger. I have been lucky enough to work with a couple of brands which has been a great opportunity.

I feel what sets me apart from others is my optimism and bubbly personality. I truly want to inspire others to reach their full potential and I have already been able to do that through some of the organizations I am in at UT. I love getting to connect with people. It really inspires me to do more at UT and leave campus better than I found it.

I am most proud of myself and how far I have come. All glory to God! I have really been able to build my self-confidence and hope I can help others do the same through my Blog.

Any big plans?
I am working to create a community where people feel so happy and loved! I want to be relatable and bold in who I am and who I have grown to be, I want to make people smile and share how I express myself through my outfits. I also want to share my testimony and how I have come to my faith and how God has worked through me and I hope that will inspire others. It will take some time but those are a few goals I have for my Instagram page. This is all just the beginning and I cannot wait to see what God has planned for me.
