Community Highlights: Meet Jordyn Zanin and Alexis Parmentier of Simply XO Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordyn Zanin and Alexis Parmentier.

Hi Jordyn and Alexis, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
We officially launched Simply XO Events in 2018 and it has been full speed ahead ever since. Both having been brides in the Austin area, we saw a gap in the Austin Wedding Market and felt compelled to work to fill that gap. Because of that, Simply XO Events was born. We created a business that offered personalized, intentional and accessible wedding planning & coordination, while branding ourselves to include two wedding planners with every package; adopting the philosophy that two is better than one.

We both came from different backgrounds; Jordyn from corporate event planning and Alexis from wedding and social events. Alexis tends to be the creative spirit of this business and runs our social media and marketing platforms, while Jordyn excels in the numbers game, handling contracts and backend business obligations. Together, we are a great team! Due to our quick growth, we grew our business and now have an awesome team of six women; all of who are equally creative, passionate, hard-workers, and go-getters.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We don’t believe that any business has smooth sailing from the start. One of our biggest struggles, was that we grew quickly and our business took off. It was a very delicate balance of not growing too quickly and growing in an intentional way that ultimately best served our clients and the Austin wedding market. COVID-19 was also an exceptional struggle that we faced this past year. It was equal parts frustrating, scary, and heartbreaking. We watched clients reschedule weddings, cancel weddings, and push through with their original wedding date. For a business that operates and excels based on experience, we had no experience to fall back on when it came to a global pandemic. We spent the year pivoting, advocating for our clients, creating Plan C’s, and learning to exist in a world that is forever changed from COVID-19. Every challenge and struggle has always brought about positive change for our business and our industry. We have made the best out of every situation, positive or negative, that has come our way and have adopted business practices that ultimately have made our business stronger.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Simply XO Events is a wedding and event planning business based in Austin, TX. We service couples all over Texas but mainly focus on the Central Texas Region. We are a business who offers purposeful, personalized wedding planning offerings, from month-of coordination to full wedding planning, for couples seeking an elevated, detail-oriented process. Our team offers an exceptional attention to detail, is committed to seamless execution for every event, and has warm and approachable personalities that really resonate with clients. Our brand offers two coordinators and planners for the price of one, which ultimately allows our clients to feel taken care of and supported throughout their planning process. Our brand also focuses on approachability and accessibility, which are two backbone principles of our success.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
We are really big on collaboration between industry professionals! One of our biggest principles is community over competition. Other wedding planners are often secretive and don’t like to share their secrets but we do believe that we are stronger together and we can learn from how other people run their businesses. In terms of supporting small business, reviews and referrals are our biggest supporters. Positive reviews and referrals to friends/family are the best token for a job well done. Whether it’s a restaurant, photographer, or other small business, sharing your positive experience, especially after this past year, is simply the best.
