Meet Kimberley Rothbauer of Linen + Grace Boutique

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberley Rothbauer.

Hi Kimberley, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Ever since I can remember, I’ve had an entrepreneurial drive – I was the kid that wanted to run a lemonade stand every weekend and the most competitive girl scout you knew! Starting a new passion project is something that brings me so much joy and energy, but something that I lost sight of as I got older. It has been my dream to own my own boutique since I was a little girl. However, I never quite believed that I was someone who could make that dream a reality. Instead, I followed the path that was set before me – go to school, get a degree, work a corporate job. It wasn’t until I ticked off all of those accomplishments that I stopped for a minute to look around and actually assess if these things were bringing me joy or not. And guess what? When I did that, I realized there was a creative piece of me that wasn’t being fulfilled.

It was then that I decided to take a leap of faith and fulfill those dreams that I had since I was young – opening my own boutique! However, it was important to me that I wasn’t just creating a business for profit but with meaning. That’s why Linen + Grace Boutique is a faith-based boutique that gives back to local charities. My goal is to not only empower women with clothes they feel amazing in but to create & cultivate a community that gives others a place they feel that they belong and creates a positive impact in the world!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I opened Linen + Grace Boutique when I was seven months pregnant, which came with its own share of challenges, to say the least! While battling pregnancy exhaustion was a feat in and of itself to get the business up and running, so was understanding the retail landscape and wearing multiple hats in my business. As a small business owner, I have the responsibility of working as an accountant, photographer, buyer, website designer, content creator, and more on a daily basis. All of these roles require a learning curve, but I truly wake up every day excited to tackle the next one because of the passion I have for Linen + Grace. Owning a business will always have its own challenges, but I try to keep a positive perspective and look at each one as a growth opportunity!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
