Rising Stars: Meet Nikki Gamble

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki Gamble.

Hi Nikki, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started as a blogger while I was a SAHM with my second child. I wanted to be creative and find a way to express my affection for fashion. Over about two years and with trial and a lot of error, I created a blog and IG account by the name of NEWTEXACALI. My motto was “Motherhood is not a stop sign for life”. I stayed consistent and utilized the resources that I had to take pics and post to my blog. It grew quickly and I found myself getting very busy and ultimately secured my first paid partnership. I think I made $200. Just as I began to get busy, my family needed me to return to work full-time. I went back to work full-time in retail management. My job was extremely demanding and I pulled very long hours along with motherhood and keeping up with my rapidly growing business. Eventually, it caught up with me and I found myself in the hospital from exhaustion. I knew at that point I needed to choose. I quit my job in May of 2018 and began my career as a full-time Content Creator.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to success is never smooth. I’ve experienced hospitalization, death in the family, moving, and divorce along with so many other twists and turns. That’s life! You learn the art of the pivot!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I create content for some of the largest retailers like Bloomingdale’s, Old Navy, Walmart, Nordstrom, FarFetch to name a few. I specialize in women. Giving women inspiration for life through living mine unapologetically. Via my affinity for fashion, travel and snippets of motherhood. I’m known for my chic style, way with words and my honesty and authenticity. I’m most proud of my resilience. I’ve experienced a lot but I’ve overcome even more! Telling the truth sets me apart from others.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters to me the most is my integrity. Being able to show my kids that no matter what the circumstances are/ where, I chose to go high,
