Today we’d like to introduce you to Diane Brooks.
Hi Diane, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have loved numbers since I was a small child. I have also loved organizing things since a small child as well. I just put the two together. Bookkeeping is organizing numbers into their proper category. I’ve been doing it for 25 years, always for other people as an employee. One day I realized my worth was greater than a 9 to 5 job driving to an office every day. I decided to start my own firm and offer a wide range of services.
I want to empower other women to do the same and small business owners.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Biggest struggle was selling myself. I am a doer, not a talker, not a promoter. Getting new business was the toughest part. Once I had someone’s attention, then I could sell myself and my services.

I have 20+ years of experience in Bookkeeping doing clean up, catch up, audit of transactions, invoicing, bank reconciliation, sales tax audits and reporting. We are a small firm and family-operated. We like to give businesses that personal touch yet the ability to be hands-free or hands-on. We can put together any type of service package that a business might need. From Registered agent services for our out of state clients to bookkeeping, sales tax reporting and even payroll. For new businesses, we can also set up your LLC.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was the youngest of the family. All my siblings had gone off to college when I came along, so it was much like being an only child. I was an honor roll student, in the mathletes club, and 4H. I loved being outside. I was quiet and focused on my studies. Super shy.
