Meet Mary Beth Wesley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Beth Wesley.

Hi Mary Beth, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m Mary Beth Wesley, owner and lead designer. I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2018 (WHOOP) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Horticulture – Floral Design and Event Planning, a minor in Recreation, Park & Tourism Sciences – Tourism Management, a certificate in Professional Event Management and a certificate in Hospitality Management. Fifty Seven Bloom Co. was established in 2021 after working for Urban Rubbish Floristry for five years.

I wear many hats: Believer, Wife, Mama, Sister, Dog Person, Coke Zero Addict, Cow Girl, Flower Lady.

I am fueled by my love for flowers and bringing joy to clients on some of the best days of their lives.

When I am not tucked away in the studio, you’ll find me diddling on our tiny farm (Wesley Hen House) with my husband, Garrett, and our daughter, Ava, and son, Cooper. To date, we’ve got dogs, cats, and cows and are always looking to add more species to the list.

What started off as a small town cattle brand has shifted into a small town floral business.

My great-grandfather, Willie Rumfield, registered the 57 brand for his herd of cattle in the early 1900s. Much like Heinz was known for having 57 varieties, his herd was never purebred cattle, but was full of good, hardy, crossbred stock.

The 57 cattle brand was passed from my great-grandfather to my grandfather, to my father, and now, to me.

In true Mary Beth fashion, I have put a floral spin on this classic idea!

As a girl who’s always been a lover of tradition, legacy and history, I can’t think of a better way to carry my family through this journey with me. I am proud to continue a legacy of offering variety through a medium I have grown to be so passionate about.

As a small floral studio, it is my goal to always exceed client expectations with a wide range of services. I take great pride in my commitment to quality service, and strive to give you a truly beautiful, unique, custom-tailored experience.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Growing faster than I “planned” for. I had to hire help much sooner than I thought I would need to. A real blessing if you think about it. I also have a 2.5-year-old and an 8-month-old. They require lots of attention but I consider myself very lucky to get to be able to have them at the shop with me every single day.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We take great pride in our commitment to quality service, and strive to give clients a truly beautiful, unique, custom-tailored experience. Building a relationship with our clients is not just a business strategy, it is a genuine desire to “bloom where we are planted”.

We are best known for our unique designs and doing our best to incorporate each client’s personal style into their floral arrangements. From daily designs to their weddings.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My husband’s family and my family have been instrumental in the success of Fifty Seven Bloom Co. from the start. They have been here with us every step of the way and have helped us find supplies and clients, as well as lending helping hands at various events. My husband, Garrett, has not once told me my dreams are too big for my britches. He is my biggest cheerleader and I would not be where I am without him.

The clients that hired me during the first month of opening the business are some of the most special people to me. They trusted me from the get-go and that is so humbling!
