Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittnee Nieto.
Hi Brittnee, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am originally from a small town in south Texas called Lasara.
Coming from a small town, at the time, there was not much opportunity and the pay for having an experienced skill set was no more than $9.00; I had to leave to pursue a dream of being financially free. I moved to Austin, Texas at the beginning of the year 2012 for more opportunities. Once I got to Austin, I knew this is where my new journey would begin. I applied to all sorts of jobs and finally got a call back from a mortgage lender with an offer for a receptionist position. I immediately accepted the offer. I worked as a receptionist doing the basic job of answering phones, greeting clients, and keeping the kitchen clean. I did this for about 1 year and then got promoted to Administrative Assistant. As an Admin Assistant, there was an additional scale of duties I had to fulfill, which was working side by side with compliance, HR, and the CEO. For about another 6 months I was in this position until I got offered a position change within the company as a Loan Officer Assistant/ Junior Processor. By this time I had absorbed so much knowledge, I was hungry for more, so I accepted the position.
Once I switched positions, this is where my curiosity intrigued with how getting a mortgage works. My colleagues were such a huge influence on me at the time. I admired how knowledgeable they were, how passionate they were about helping others get a mortgage to purchase a home, down to the amount of commission they were getting.
While working side by side with the loan officers and branch manager, I learned all the nooks and crannies needed to get a file to the closing table. All the required documentation is needed + the rules and regulations. Once I officially became a full-blown processor, this is where my curiosity about Real Estate started to pick at me. Since I already knew how to work the mortgage side, I thought, how is it with the Real Estate side? How does it work on their end? I became so fascinated with researching and talking to other people that are Realtors, that one day, I decided that I wanted to pursue this career.
With this fire in me, I went ahead and started my courses to become a Realtor. I completed the 180 hours required, took my test & passed. Now, fast forward, I am not only a Mortgage processor but also a Realtor. I have never been this excited in my life to finally accomplish my goals. I have obtained so much knowledge throughout these last 10 years to be able to become successful and help others get into their dream home. This experience has been so fun and life-changing. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine being in the mortgage/real estate industry. Now I have the opportunity to actually help people find their dream home, and get them a mortgage to get into their home whilst fulfilling MY dream. God has been so good to me, guiding me to where I am now. It has been a wild and exciting ride!!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wouldn’t say this journey has been a fairly smooth road. There were definitely some trials and tribulations that I had to go through to get to where I am. The biggest obstacle was definitely my mindset. Learning to take care of myself and putting my health first was something I had to learn to do if I wanted to be able to accomplish my goals. Once I mastered self-care, I would say now the road has been a fairly smooth ride!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in Real Estate as a Licensed Realtor. Serving throughout the state of Texas. I am most proud of how far I have come and the relationships I have made to keep me motivated. What sets me apart is, I am passionate, I am here for all of my clients. Day and Night. I am there every step of the way, from getting them pre-approved for a mortgage, finding their dream home with everything they have ever wanted in a home, down to being there the day of close.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Santiago’s journey and spiritual quest, the people he meets, the dreams he has, the omens he encounters, and the nature he speaks to, are all things that we can relate to..things that we’ve either forgotten about or simply dismissed as childhood fantasies. It is all about finding your Personal Legend and pursuing your dream regardless of any hurdles, and about being spiritually connected to the universe, which is part of us, and part of God. Reading this book always sets me back on the right path towards achieving the dreams I had put on hold. We always try to do what everyone expects of us like pursuing a career that you hate just because that is what everyone does. Recognizing my personal legend, and feeling a deeper spiritual connection with everything/everyone that is around me, feeling God inside me, and not being afraid of failing or facing challenges are just some of the few things this book has given me! “When you really want something, the whole universe conspires in helping you to achieve it”
