Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Ramirez.
Hi Andrea, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
While working as a dental assistant and benefits coordinator for a dental office, I was in school to become a dental hygienist and decided dentistry was not my passion. My sister has been a hairstylist for over 15 years, and I loved her work and what she did but knew I didn’t care much for hair. She suggested I look into skincare, and I decided to leave ACC and enroll in Ann Webb Skin Institute. I went to school for 25 hours Friday through Sunday and interned at the school for 30 hours Monday through Friday until I graduated. I took every advanced class and licensed they offered, and when I graduated, I worked for two different med spas before my sister offered me a room in her hair salon. I recently became a medspa and can now offer more medical-based aesthetic treatments. Now I own my own business and love it.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
It always takes work! I had multiple financial setbacks along the way, including a mishap with my financial aid. I almost had to drop out of my esthetics program but I was offered an internship opportunity and was able to continue. It gave me many stepping stones to get me where I am now. I learned as much as possible and kept going.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a licensed, medically trained aesthetician. I specialize in chemical peels and Korean skincare. microneedling is my favorite service to offer. I love changing my client’s life by changing their self-esteem and skin health.
What does success mean to you?
Success is ever-evolving, and my definition of success may be different tomorrow. Success is reaching goals, seeing my family happy, and watching my business grow.
