Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia Bradshaw.
Hi Olivia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Growing up, I always knew I wanted something at the intersection of creativity and business. I was influenced heavily by my aunt Deena who worked on the Red Cross’s marketing team and my small family business. Social media was born in middle school, and I quickly fell in love with creating content, sharing stories, and seeing how consumers and brands were directly able to interact with one another for the first time. I graduated mid-pandemic with no jobs, so I started my first company. I contacted small businesses in Texas and gained my first few clients. Since then, I have been in-house, worked at an agency, and started Something Creative (my second company). It’s been an exciting few years, but I am so happy to be building Something Creative and working with clients I love!
Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Building a business (or, in my case going from working for yourself to an agency and back to building your own business) comes with various struggles. I struggled with the most my first time being an entrepreneur was imposter syndrome. I was fresh out of college and only 22 at the time. Society tells us that we aren’t supposed to be as successful as I was right out of school, and unfortunately, I listened to that and went to an agency for about a year and a half.
Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Something Creative is a boutique creative marketing agency. We specialize in all things creative marketing. Most of our clients come to us needing help with their social media. But 9/10 after our initial meeting, we discover it isn’t necessarily their social media that they need help with, but their marketing strategy. Although content creation and social media management are what we are known for, consulting and overall marketing strategy are something I love helping our clients with. Creating and posting content without a solid strategy or ‘why’ behind the content wastes your and your audience’s time. What sets Something Creative apart is that we become very invested in our clients. By the end of working together, they become more like friends than clients. I am proud and thankful to help small businesses and fellow entrepreneurs grow their brands daily and help their dreams come to life.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
We are based in Texas but work with clients all over the states!
