Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Sanders.
Hi Brian, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I lost both parents when I was about 30, which changed my life. I changed what I ate and became radically healthier; after a few years, I quit my job and dedicated my life to spreading this message. It started with the Food Lies film series but eventually ended up with my regenerative meat company, Nose to Tail, and the Sapien Center. This health/social club is where we come together in person to live this lifestyle.
The best way to learn about my story is to watch the 3.5 intros to my film series:
Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been pretty smooth overall. However, I’ve had to fund and do almost everything for all these endeavors. I’ve learned so much!
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about Sapien Center?
This might be better over the phone. We are a new hub for Austin’s “ancestral health” scene. Our values are around living closer to nature and more like humans should. We eat real food, lift weights, get appropriate sun exposure, and have a strong social community. We have come together as a tribe and have created something special. We have events almost every week that are open to the public.
What do you think about happiness?
One of the best moments of every single day is walking into the Sapien Center after lunch and seeing everyone enjoying the space and each other. There could be a few people working on a project together at our community tables, a business meeting on the couch, a group workout outside, and some people in the sauna together. It makes me so happy to see my vision come to life and the connections and bonds formed.
