Today we’d like to introduce you to Juliana Beladera.
Hi Juliana, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I come from an extensive and professional dance background. A South Florida native, I began dancing at three at my mom’s dance studio in Stuart, Florida. I trained in classical ballet, contemporary, and theatre and moved to New York City to attend The Fashion Institute of Technology, where I studied advertising, fashion, and marketing. While in New York City, I attended a two-year professional training program at Steps Conservatory to continue my dance training and gain performance experience. I’ve always been connected to movement and knew my career needed to be focused on this. I had been taking Pilates classes for years as part of dance training and wanted to teach, so I transitioned into the wellness space. I trained in barre and dance cardio at Equinox and have experience teaching Zumba, HIIT, and strength and conditioning. I wanted to understand the human body more deeply, so I received a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. My focus shifted to Pilates and women’s health, which led to completing my comprehensive Pilates training with BASI Pilates. I became a prenatal/postnatal fitness specialist and an alignment technique specialist. In 2022, I created The Bela Method exercise program dedicated to and specializing in women’s health and prenatal/postnatal exercise. There’s also a dance section to focus on injury prevention and longevity. I’m happy and honored to bring my passion and knowledge for women’s health onto a virtual platform. My app and website are relaunching this year, so stay tuned! I’m based in Austin, Texas, and I teach private Pilates in my home. In addition, I teach Pilates at a boutique studio, The Peach House, and at corporate sites such as Intel and Samsung with the company EXOS. I also teach at Equinox, The Austin Proper Hotel, Soho House and Hyatt Resorts.
Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Growing a business is hard work and takes a lot of focus and time. Being a professional dancer is just as hard. I’ve had both injury and business setbacks. Finding what works and what doesn’t is part of the journey. Making mistakes, learning lessons, and experiencing failure are as important as success. This is where growth and expansion occur.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in Pilates and prenatal/postnatal exercise. I enjoy working with women and helping them reach their goals in wellness. I love educating women on cycle-syncing workouts and encouraging them to have a healthy relationship with food, their bodies, and their mindset. I also enjoy working with dancers and educating them on injury prevention, alignment techniques, and exercises focused on mobility and stability.
My brand and company, The Bela Method, is all about this. Bela stands for balance, energy, longevity, and alignment, the foundations for overall wellness. These words are powerful and don’t only relate to exercise. Are the choices you make daily in alignment with your soul? Is there balance in your life? Where and how do you invest your energy? Are you focused on longevity or short-term goals?
A healthy mindset is vital for a healthy body. One cannot exist without the other. I post a “Mindset Monday” post on Instagram every Monday and will add a mindset and nutrition component to my company this year. The Bela Method app and website are relaunching this year with these components. This is my work, passion, and mission. I’m so grateful to be able to live this life every day.
What do you think about happiness?
Happiness comes from within. Having compassion, grace, love, and patience with yourself creates a healthy internal dialogue. Everything’s a reflection, so being happy with yourself first will lead to happiness elsewhere. What adds to my joy?
