Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
After moving to Austin, I was stuck in the repetitive 9-5 cycle. Jumping forward to the summertime, I was scrolling through social media, seeing the posts of people enjoying their summer, and had this realization of what am I doing? I should be exploring my new city! Finding things to do in Austin is limitless, but tackling something new alone can be intimidating. To help narrow my search, I started looking for groups with a common interest or hobby. I joined social networking apps and found groups, from walking clubs to casual coffee meetups. By attending these meetups and events, I was able to make new friends, explore Austin, and see firsthand the community impact these groups create. I felt inspired by this newfound excitement, and in July 2023, ATX Brunch Girls was founded. A social group for any/all women to come together to try new experiences, make new friends, and enjoy delicious food.
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Being a new group was exciting, but there was also this slight fear of the unknown. Hosting our first ATX Brunch Girls meetup was thrilling, but if anyone attended, would attendees enjoy themselves, and would this Texas heat ever end? The unknown can be what deters or inspires us to pursue our passions and make an impact. Overcoming this fear comes from trying your best and seeing what happens. With that, our first ATX Brunch Girls meetup was a huge success. We had a wonderful group of women come from all over Austin to enjoy delicious food and share experiences and memories with new people.

ATX Brunch Girls is a social group for any/all women to come together to try new experiences, make new friends, and enjoy delicious food through meetups and events in the Austin area. Our goal is to create a fun, social space for attendees to have the opportunity to meet new people while exploring Austin and supporting local restaurants. I am most proud of the small community we have created with ATX Brunch Girls. A common thing we have heard from our members is that they were looking to make new friends as they recently moved to Austin. This shared goal is how we set ourselves apart from others. ATX Brunch Girls is more than a social group; it is an opportunity to get out of your comfort zone to meet new people while starting your new chapter.
