Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristie Bryant.
Hi Kristie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
When my family decided to move back to Austin after being in Houston for a few years, I and a business partner sold a business. I was looking for a flexible career that would allow me to spend time with my family, including my two children. My mother, a Realtor, and my husband encouraged me to look into real estate. After attending a Keller Williams Realty team meeting, I liked the mutual support and decided it was a career and a company for me. I haven’t regretted that decision. Keller Williams is recognized for the training it gives agents, and I have benefitted from that. I’m now a team leader and a member of the Agent Leadership Council at the Keller Williams Southwest Market Center. I am pleased to pass on the knowledge I gained when I first entered real estate, and, of course, I continue to learn my craft. I am proud that almost 100 percent of our team’s business comes from referrals.
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Of course, nothing in life is a smooth road. However, our team’s business has steadily grown. When we entered the pandemic, we were uncertain about the impact on real estate. We were surprised when sales outpaced our wildest dreams. To be successful in this business, one has to keep abreast of the latest data and trends and factor those into one’s business plans. We always put the interests of our clients first. We also aim to deliver outstanding customer service in every situation.
Thanks for sharing that. So, you could tell us a bit more about your work.
I wear a few other hats as chair of two non-profits: Austin Sister Cities International (ASCI) and the Austin-Oita Sister City Committee (AOSCC). Oita, Japan, is Austin’s Japanese Sister City. I first volunteered with AOSCC as a student at the University of Texas at Austin, where I earned international business and Japanese degrees. I again became a volunteer with AOSCC when I moved back to Austin, and soon after, I became the committee chair. More recently, I assumed the helm of ASCI as board chair. I’m passionate about the Sister Cities program, which President Dwight D. Eisenhower started after World War II with the thought that if people knew those in other countries, they wouldn’t go to war against them.
We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Can you share something that might surprise us?
I teach a dance fitness class called Nia twice a week. It’s something that I love.
