Today we’d like to introduce you to Trisha Hendrickson. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Today we’d like to introduce you to Trisha Hendrickson of Moxie360 Marketing.
“I used to think my story was unique,” giggles Trish. “But apparently, I’m not the only one who has purchased a home online, sight unseen, in a town I’d never set foot in before! Welcome to Texas, Trish!” When all her kids left Minnesota, it was time for a change. And since the grandkids were in Texas, so became the destination. A few months after she arrived in Texas, along came the inception of Moxie360 Marketing.
The definition of Moxie is “force of character, determination or nerve,” so Trish said it felt fitting for anyone who has ever started their own business. When Trish moved to Texas, she knew she wanted to be involved with the business community and bringing her 35 years of marketing experience to the table was a natural fit. So, she joined the chamber, started making contacts, attended conferences, joined B2B networking groups, did what she calls “some old-fashioned marketing,” and shook hands. Moxie360 has clients from coast to coast and is proud to have unique offerings such as WiFi Marketing.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
“My goodness, no,” laughed Trish. “Anything worth fighting for has ups and downs. And that rollercoaster ride makes you stronger and better. The lows get higher, and the highs get higher.” While the road has been a little bumpy, Moxie360 Marketing has ridden those bumps with grace. They have created & maintained relationships, worked hard and have earned clients all over the US.
Having extensive small business experience helps Trish navigate the journey.
I appreciate you sharing that. What are you most proud about what you do?
When Trish is asked what she is most proud of, the first answer was not her career; it’s her children. Second in line is her marketing agency, Moxie360 Marketing. In February 2024, she will celebrate her second year in business in Texas. Trish has almost 35 years of marketing and small business ownership. Combining those skills lends a unique perspective. Personal relationships are a key element to Moxie360’s success. “We don’t just look at your SEO or digital imprint; we get to know the business owner, their sales team, front-line workers, back-end staff and all other aspects to understand their business and what sets them apart,” said Trish. “We have monthly meetings with our clients to discuss how things are going, where we are doing well, areas of improvement, and goal setting.” Moxie360 creates a custom dashboard for all its clients, using live data from all channels to show real-time metrics. “Our clients see what we do,” said Trish. “There isn’t any manipulating the numbers to make us look good if we aren’t doing our job. I believe in full transparency and truth.” They also use cutting-edge technology, such as WiFi Marketing, to promote business.
We’d love to hear about your fond memories from growing up.
When Trish was 4 years old, she was watching the Jerry Lewis Telethon – which was a televised fundraiser for children who were battling MS. Jerry was talking to kids who were in wheelchairs, in hospitals, and didn’t get to experience a childhood like most of us did. Leaning into her creative side, Trish grabbed an old coffee can and a piece of construction paper. She taped the construction paper, on which she had written “help,” to the coffee can and left the house by herself.
She was on a mission. For 2 hours, she walked around the neighborhood, knocking on neighbors’ doors. Some of those neighbors knew who Trish was, but many did not. When people answered the door, she said, ‘Can you please help Jerry’s Kids?’ which quickly turned into many questions: ‘Who are you, and where is your mommy or daddy?’ ‘Who are Jerry’s Kids?’ ‘What is your goal?’ ‘Why do you want to help them?’
Wow, so many questions that took a lot of thought for a 4-year-old. After someone explained to her what a goal was, she was quick to say, “10 dollars!” The where is your mommy or daddy question was a little trickier because she didn’t tell them she had left the house. Why are you helping Jerry’s Kids was easy “I’m sad those kids can’t ride their bike like I can” said 4-year old Trish.
Fast forward to tiny Trish walking down the sidewalk to see many people at her house in a frenzy. Her dad ran up to her half crying and said, “Where have you been?” Trish casually says, “Helping Jerry’s Kids, Daddy.” Many lessons were learned that day, including empathy, how to think outside the box to find a solution, what a goal was, how to ask for what you wanted, and that you had better never leave the house again without telling your parents where you were.
