Today we’d like to introduce you to Travis Moore and Ryan Bergeron.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
We’re Late Kids (aka Ryan Bergeron, Travis Moore, and Austin Koble). I was born and raised in Austin and Cedar Park. We went to the same Baptist church. We bruised our shins and covered ourselves in filth at the same decrepit skatepark. Ryan started playing guitar at 13, fronted a reggae rock band and a pop punk band, and wrote many cringeworthy songs before finding something worth releasing online. Travis, the group’s professional, went from child drummer to touring the U.S. at age 20 as a key player in a country band. And Austin, with his angel voice, learned to drum on buckets and broken e-kits. The three of us eventually wound up in the same band right before the pandemic hit and disbanded. We couldn’t stop making music, so our pandemic bubble became “Late Kids.” We released our first single, “Run,” in 2020 and followed up with “Some Days,” bringing in a great community of fans. We’re finishing up our debut EP and picking the next single. You can check our social media for shows!
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
We grew up with the privileges of good parents and being able to afford some instruments. So that helped as a foundation. But learning how to write and produce quality music ourselves has undoubtedly been a long road. Thousands of hours of practice, recording, and mixing. All while working full-time jobs and making our girlfriends angry.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We aim to make timeless pop songs with inherent nostalgia and quality musicianship. All three of us can play multiple instruments, so it’s easy to collaborate, improvise, and be a band. We’ve played together for so long that the band Telepathy can really bring out some memorable moments musically.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Check us out on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Instagram, and other places. We’re working on a few music videos, so expect those along with the EP this year 🙂
