Today we’d like to introduce you to Sira Lawless.
Hi Sira, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, you could tell our readers some of your backstory.
A young girl captivated by art from an early age, I aspired to be an artist. Despite majoring in art, life led me down diverse paths, ultimately making me a small business owner. The dream of becoming a hopeful artist through ceramics came true when acquiring a pottery studio surfaced! I always wondered what medium I would return to. Life unfolds marvels when you immerse yourself in its midst. As a single woman and mom seizing a life opportunity, I own and operate a haven for others to experience the therapeutic and creative rewards of ceramics & pottery, fostering unity within the community.
It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The frustration of feeling left behind by life’s dreams that never materialized, realizing our decisions create our seasons and seasons of stress, marked by pain and persistent difficulty, never seem to grant freedom. Yet, you have to discover the strength to persist and never surrender.
Thanks for sharing that. Please tell us more about your business.
At Enkindle Studio, we explore the art of pottery with a diverse range of workshops, classes, events, and open studio sessions. From beginners learning wheel throwing to an artist mastering advanced techniques, we boast of our vibrant community of members and students. They showcase their art in our gallery, inspiring everyone to embark on their pottery journey.
We’d love to hear what you think about risk-taking.
I’m undeniably a risk-taker, prone to restlessness. Without a new project, my mind is consistently brimming with ideas. Despite owning and running a small real estate brokerage with a close-knit community of agents, the last thing I desired was to passively watch the rest of my life unfold at home after my divorce. Operating a pottery studio has allowed me to decelerate, inhale deeply, and embrace the present moment, fostering a profound connection with my surroundings and the love of my community.
