Hi Christopher, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My career began as a creative in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, California. It was in early 2020 that I made a significant leap by purchasing my first professional camera, marking the start of a rewarding journey. I initially focused on portraits, fitness spec work, and any job that allowed me to utilize my camera skills. Today, as a cinematographer, photographer, and creative director, I work with various brands and businesses in Austin, Texas.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to get to where I am now was far from smooth. It is and for most will always be a rough path when venturing into what may seem like a bet on yourself at first. When starting your own business, the reality is that you will sacrifice your time for it, struggle or lose certain relationships with people, and constantly doubt that it will work out. Initially, the most challenging part was needing physical credibility as a photographer. One can only expect to announce oneself as a creative and expect to get work immediately by showing proof one can replicate or excel at the work given. I was fortunate enough, in the beginning, to have great friends to whom we would go out and take pictures of the landscapes, friends who would model, and product shots to build our portfolio. I’ve lost certain relationships with people because I was obsessed with building this business. If I didn’t take the chance now, achieving or going in the future would be more challenging. However, I’ve gained new relationships with people with the same mindset as me. It is an incredible feeling to be able to surround yourself in a circle with others who want you to succeed and will help push each other to get there. Smooth roads are only built because we decide how we shape the roads in front of us. It will always start out with nothing but gravel and dirt.

My business, CKIM Creatives Media LLC, is all about curating media assets for brands, companies, and businesses through high-quality videos and photos. But it’s not just about the work, it’s about the relationships. I focus on ensuring all my client’s needs are met by collaborating on ideas, game-planning marketing campaigns, and ensuring all deliverables. This sets me apart, and I love delivering to my clients quickly. I provided everything as fast as I could for everyone I worked with. Depending on the scale of each project, I turn around the media assets within the same day or 24-48 hours. Anytime I wrap on set, I start working on the deliverables as soon as I get home. I’ve recently been doing more event work, and the part that I’m most proud of as a brand is that whoever I bring on my team for events understands how I operate, and they always execute above and beyond. This, along with everyone I’ve been able to work with, is more than just clients. They are great friends because of the authentic and genuine relationship built with each other.
What does success mean to you?
I define success in answering whether you are willing to learn on your own, be open-minded to advice from others, sacrifice your time to benefit yourself, and stay consistent.
