Meet Michael McMullen of Capitol CPR

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael McMullen

Hi Michael, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Founded in 2022, Capitol CPR provides CPR and First Aid certification to aspiring healthcare students, professionals, businesses, and community members of all ages.

Our team consists of healthcare professionals with years of hands on experience in emergency medicine.

Our company was founded out of the need for CPR and First aid instructors with true hands on experience who have actually saved lives and not just learned about it from a text book.

Several strategic partnerships with Austin Community College health and science programs, Aqua Tots Swim schools, Texas State University, and UT Austin School of nursing, grew Capitol CPR into what it is today.

Our team has certified 1500+ individuals in life saving skills over the last two years

Recently, Capitol CPR has joined the Cedar Park, Leander and Taylor Texas, Chamber of commerce, with the goal to expand and continue forming strategic partnerships.

In doing so, Capitol CPR will be able to reach more of the Central Texas community and further spread our mission of teaching life saving skills from a hands on approach.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Capitol CPR is thriving and currently seeing a large spike in growth, we are grateful for this opportunity.

The road has not always been smooth however.

In our early days our team consisted of two instructors, we had no website, no phone line, and at the time we did not have any strategic partners.

All of our business was by word of mouth and gorilla marketing.

We were self funded, had to source and scrap together all of our equipment.

We struggled to gain traction early on. All of our processes were self taught through trails and many failures.

Despite these challenges early on, Capitol CPR has been able to create a thriving website, build strategic partnerships, have over 200+ 5 star google reviews, implement payroll services for our team, hire management staff, implement central scheduling and automate many of our processes.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Capitol CPR?
Capitol CPR is a CPR and First Aid certification training provider for the American Heart Association.

We serve Texas and the surrounding areas, with the ability to provide services to the US and abroad.

What sets our team apart from others is our hands on approach and our team’s years of experience in emergency medicine.

While we offer services to many renowned businesses, professionals, and organizations, we are most proud of our work with charities, and pre healthcare students.

Our team believes in the philosophy of “each one teach one.”

By taking pride and emphasis in our work to teach the aspiring healthcare force of tomorrow, our team has the unique ability to pass on the hands on experience we have been privileged to learn.

Our services include: “family and friends, hands only cpr”, basic life support for healthcare providers, Advanced Life Support. Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and First Aid certification.

In addition, we have recently formed a sister company “AEDPRO” which focuses on providing medical, dental, emergency medicine, and survival equipment.

Our team would like your readers to know that everyone has a hand in saving lives and we as a community can make a difference together by getting CPR certified by professionals with real experience.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Start with what you have. It doesn’t take a lot of money or experience to get started, all you have to do is get started!

Talking about your goals, aspirations or ideas isn’t actually, doing it. Just get started and take it day by day.

Be prepared for failures, challenges, and hurdles along the way.

It’s better to start small and build your way to what you aspire instead of waiting for the perfect circumstances.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help along the way. Start by going through your contact list on your phone, social media, etc, and gain the support of those already around you.

You’d be surprised what support you can get by just asking.

Ultimately just don’t give up. There will be long nights, where you want to quit and give in, you have to have the belief in yourself and your mission.

Look at your business, goals and aspirations as a new born child. You are responsible for the growth, outcome and trajectory so put all of your love, patience and time into whatever it is you want and watch it grow!
