Rising Stars: Meet Morgan Grace of Austin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Grace

Hi Morgan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey began as a professional musician, singing alongside my mother from a young age. As my love for music blossomed, I started writing my own songs and recording albums. In my teens, I was offered a major record deal that would have been difficult for most to pass up. Trusting my intuition, I chose to decline the offer, continuing to create, record, and produce music while contemplating my next steps.

In my early 20s, though still immersed in music and creative collaborations, I found myself less fulfilled. Experiencing the effects of complex trauma, I embarked on a personal healing journey. As I deepened my understanding of the mind-body connection and worked with therapists and healers who mirrored my own capacity for self-healing, I knew I needed to change career paths and give back what was so generously given to me. I pursued my bachelor’s and master’s degrees, quickly finding my place in the mental health field.

In 2015, I created an intensive outpatient program at a facility in downtown Austin, focusing on harm reduction, parts work (IFS), and self-compassion. This experience led me to Driftwood Recovery, an incredible facility where I served as a trauma therapist, honed my clinical skills and became the therapist I am today through their amazing mentorship, training, and approaches.

I launched my full-time solo private practice in January 2020, and despite the challenges of the pandemic, my practice was fully booked within two weeks. Like many therapists, I found the pandemic to be a stressful and transformative time, as we adapted to the realities of Zoom and telehealth. During this period, I realized that clients with complex and generational trauma, dissociation, and addiction benefited from longer, more intensive sessions.

As in-person work became more feasible, I began to explore the idea of expanding my practice into a group mind-body wellness center focused on intensive therapeutic retreats and viewing healing from a mind-body-spirit lens. In 2022, Alchemy Collective was born. We quickly grew, and now operate out of three locations, with plans for further expansion in the coming year. It is mind-blowing to look back at the last decade and see how much has transpired. I am grateful for it all.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has all been a cakewalk. Not! Joking aside, it has been the struggles along the way that have created the most opportunities for growth, reflection, ownership, and redirecting energy where it is most beneficial and necessary.

I can now see my past traumas and adversities as gifts to show me who I really am, what I am capable of, my core values, my boundaries, and how I choose to navigate relationships, both personally and professionally.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As the founder of Alchemy Collective, I lead a mind-body integrative wellness practice that offers a diverse range of experiential psychotherapies, bodywork services, and psychedelic-assisted therapy. Our signature service is concierge therapeutic intensive retreats, designed for individuals, couples, families, groups, and executives seeking profound transformation. We’ve recently started an exciting partnership with Frances Modern Inn, a local boutique hotel where many of our current clients choose to engage in their retreat services as well as Lotus Bend, a serene space in nature where folks can unplug and dedicate time to the internal work. At Alchemy Collective, we operate on the principle that an individual’s choice to heal sends ripples throughout the collective, creating meaningful impacts on society. We heal better together.

My expertise lies in complex trauma, dissociation, addiction, and chronic pain. As both a psychotherapist and consultant, I am deeply passionate about mentoring fellow therapists across the globe, helping them refine their skills for navigating complex cases.

I take immense pride in the incredible team that has joined our mission and in the role that Alchemy Collective is playing in the community—a sanctuary for healing and a source of highly specialized treatment you won’t find anywhere else. It’s been a wild journey, turning this vision into reality and seeing people from all over the world come to experience our intensive retreats. It’s truly a dream come true.

How do you think about luck?
Luck has certainly played a role in my life and business, but I believe it’s a combination of chance and preparedness that shapes outcomes. Early in my career, the serendipitous opportunity to decline what folks on the outside would view as the music opportunity of a lifetime allowed me to trust my intuition and eventually led me to discover my true passion for psychotherapy and mind body spirit healing work. This ‘good luck’ was really a pivotal moment that set me on a path of helping others discover their own inner healing wisdom.

In business, while there have been fortunate circumstances—such as the right connections and timing—success has been the result of hard work, perseverance, and a clear vision. I’ve found that when you’re prepared and dedicated, what might seem like luck often aligns with your efforts and intentions. In essence, luck has been a supportive factor, but the real achievements are built on the foundation of commitment and the meaningful choices we make along the way.
