Check Out Blake York’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Blake York.

Hi Blake, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Blake York, founder and owner of Bobcat Movers, began working for his dad’s moving company when he was only 10 years old. By age 17 he was trusted to drive a 27-foot moving truck and supervise a 4-man team. He worked for his dad’s moving company until he graduated from high school and enrolled in Texas State University..

Blake started Bobcat Movers in the dorm as a freshman college student in 2005. He attributes his business success to the knowledge and experience he has gained throughout his life while working for his father’s moving business.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Keeping up with technology advances through the years as we have grown and adapted. We began the business on pen and paper and are now fully digital. Also, overcoming the stigma that many moving companies have due to poor customer service.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We began as local and college movers, but have expanded to cross country moving! Although we are named Bobcat Movers, we are not directly affiliated nor endorsed by TX State. The owner, Blake, as well as some other employees are alumni.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
100% customer service and communication. We pride ourselves in our exemplary customer communication and the personal touch that many moving companies lack!
