Today we’d like to introduce you to Brock Birden
Hi Brock , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Baltimore, where I developed resilience and a strong sense of community. In 2010, I moved to Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, for college, and in 2012, I began my career in the housing industry as a leasing agent. Over the years, I worked my way up to roles like property manager and regional leasing and marketing manager, gaining invaluable experience in leadership, branding, and marketing.
My outlook on life shifted dramatically after losing my sister in 2018 and my mother in 2019. These losses reminded me of the fragility of life and the importance of focusing on what truly matters—personal growth, meaningful connections, and making a positive impact. They pushed me to align my passions and skills with a greater purpose.
Fitness became a cornerstone of my life during this time. It wasn’t just about physical health but a way to build consistency, discipline, and resilience. Earning my personal training certification was a natural step forward, enabling me to help others start their own journeys and transform their lives.
Entrepreneurship has also been a significant part of my story. I founded a premium loose-leaf tea brand that’s currently undergoing an exciting rebrand—stay tuned! Building the tea brand from the ground up has been one of my proudest achievements. Additionally, I’ve been able to give back to my community through freelance work in marketing, content creation, and branding, leveraging the skills I honed in corporate America to help small businesses succeed.
Through it all, my journey has been defined by growth, resilience, and a commitment to making the most of every opportunity to inspire and uplift others.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not—it’s been a journey full of challenges, but each obstacle has taught me something valuable. Growing up in Baltimore’s inner city came with its own set of difficulties, but it also instilled resilience and resourcefulness in me from a young age. Moving to Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, for college was a big transition, and finding my footing in a new environment pushed me to adapt and grow.
Professionally, climbing the ranks in the housing industry from a leasing agent to a regional manager required hard work, perseverance, and a willingness to continuously learn. Balancing demanding roles while pursuing personal passions like fitness and entrepreneurship wasn’t always easy. I often had to navigate tight schedules and moments of self-doubt, especially when starting my own ventures like my premium loose-leaf tea brand and earning my personal training certification.
The most profound challenges, though, were losing my sister in 2018 and my mother in 2019. Those losses shook me to my core and forced me to re-evaluate what’s truly important in life. It wasn’t just about career success anymore; it was about living with purpose, focusing on personal growth, and cherishing the connections that matter most.
Building something meaningful—whether it’s helping someone on their fitness journey, supporting small businesses, or creating a brand like premium loose-leaf tea company —takes patience, resilience, and an ability to adapt to setbacks. It hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has brought me closer to the person I’m proud to be today.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My work is rooted in creativity, transformation, and authenticity. I freelance in marketing, content creation, and branding, helping small businesses grow by applying the skills I gained in corporate America. I’m also a certified personal trainer, passionate about guiding others on their fitness journeys and helping them build confidence and consistency.
One of my proudest accomplishments is founding a premium tea brand that started as an idea on paper and became a reality through dedication and hard work. I worked before and after my 9-to-5 job, using weekends and free time to host events and grow the brand. Bringing this vision to life gave me a profound sense of accomplishment and taught me the value of persistence and community.
What truly sets me apart is my commitment to being 100% my authentic self. I have good days, I have bad days—just like everyone else—but I lean into my humanity and allow it to connect me with others. Whether it’s helping a business thrive, guiding someone on their fitness journey, or building a brand from the ground up, I approach each day with gratitude, faith, and a genuine desire to inspire and uplift others.
