Conversations with Cameron Belloit

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cameron Belloit.

Hi Cameron, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Cameron Belloit, i’ve been a DJ/Producer for over 15 years, but the experience has been more of a rollercoaster than anything. From starting as an open format DJ in Florida at house parties, to releasing hit remixes, playing major festivals like EDC Orlando, Breakaway Carolina, Sunset Music Festival in Tampa, & headlining major venues across the country — i’ve seen it all. But there is certainly an element of struggle in a journey written with major milestones. My initial entry into the electronic music world was a struggle, making music in the beginning was a challenge, and eventually the downfall of nightlife in Orlando would prove to be a major challenge. Even having to find creative ways to adapt during COVID; and major social shifts from that was a hurdle. But in the end, i’ve persevered, playing well over 1000+ gigs/shows from small bars to major music festivals, and recently releasing a full length, 14 track album entitled “domino theory”.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has certainly not been a smooth road. The road to musical endeavors is never an easy one, and particularly in my case, it has been an extremely turbulent one. From a personal level, i’ve always struggled at some level to maintain meaningful connections and even have had some major health battles at the beginning and during my musical career.

When I began as an artist, I really struggled with severe vertigo and cognitive issues as a result of an adverse reaction to a medication. I was only 19 years old at the time, but that time off paradoxically became a motivating factor to help kickstart my music career and get the wheels spinning — even when my head was too (vertigo).

Fast forward a few years, and I was in my junior year in college when I started to make my rounds in the Orlando electronic music scene. It was around this time, at 23 years old, I finally decided to fully commit to music production and networking in nightlife — however this proved to be a challenge.

On one end, producing music in the beginning was an extreme technical and logistical challenge, having to quickly learn and understand how to structure top tier compositions, while simultaneously perfecting a marketing strategy. It was not easy by any means. On the other end, committing exorbitant amounts of time to networking and late-night outings proved to be an extreme challenge, especially as I maintained a job and enrollment as a full-time student at UCF. My still good friend Jordan Miller helped tremendously in this time of my life.

Several years later, in 2021, after being dug into the music industry and releasing many high-quality, well supported tracks. I began headlining my own shows in the Central Florida and South Florida region. Even when it was a major financial challenge to do so, I still maintained and did well over 100 professional shows at this time. One year later, in 2022, I was put on to my first major festival at SMF Tampa 2022. Later that year I made my formal EDC debut as a major act, at 26 years old.
In 2023, I went to tour around the country and even made my debut in Los Angeles at the world renown “Avalon” in hollywood.

As time went on, many challenges persisted, especially with nightlife in central florida becoming increasingly sparse and sporadic due to increasingly stringent regulations and pressure from the city against nightlife. After several years, in 2025, I made my move to Austin, TX to find and refine my sound. And in May of 2026, after refining my sound, I finally released my first major album, Domino Theory.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As a DJ/Producer, I specialize in performing music via modern turntables (CDJ’s), producing and releasing my own music, and branding said experience under one unified domain. I’m known for performing a unique yet familiar experience, with stylish and experimental styles of electronic music blended with a nostalgic era of dance music most people know. As an Artist, i’m most proud of my accomplishments in festival accolades and major musical releases. That being said, what sets me apart from others is not only my tenacity as an artist at a personal level, but my ability to connect with an audience with music they wanted to hear but didn’t expect.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, especially during adolescence — it was certainly a strange time for me, for many reasons. For social reasons, I actually changed schools several times during middle school, looking for places to fit in. For me it was a major challenge, as my height and eccentric personality at the time made me an ideal target for bullying. I think it was around this time i journeyed into electronic music, hoping to find solace. At age 14 i began learning about djing, becoming a huge fan of deadmau5 and DJ Hero 2 overnight. Later that year in 2011, I actually ended up getting my first DJ controller (Turntables) when I was just 15 years old.

Fast forward to high school, and the dynamic was very different. I opted to go to public school with several of my friends and stuck the landing much better than middle school. Subjects became much more rewarding, and i was more engaged with school (at least until the last half of senior year. My junior and senior year, i began hosting events at a personally and privately owned warehouse in Jacksonville, FL. This is where i got the opportunity to began playing to my friends as a DJ, and eventually small crowds as word got out. As expected, it eventually became a problem — but became the proving ground for me to begin playing bars and nightclubs as college approached.
