Conversations with Meghan Elizabeth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meghan Elizabeth.

Hi Meghan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Austin, TX. I quickly became very independent at a young age. I started in nanny positions at 14 and continued this and working at HEB all through high school. I learned quickly how much I wanted to grow from some harder childhood situations and build a life for myself that I always dreamed of. I started bartending at 18, which taught me a ton about providing quality service to those in my presence and building relationships with customers. I took this mindset with me into real estate in 2019. Coming from generations of real estate agents, I took on the things I grew up watching my mother and grandparents do and added my own millennial flare. I’ve used Instagram to grow my sphere of influence in the real estate community. I quickly realized how much I loved helping clients find their first homes, forever homes, or even just a few years of investment opportunities. I pride myself in going the extra mile for the people I work with and do my best to provide them with the knowledge I’ve gained over the last few years. I’m truly passionate about this city I’ve always called home. I absolutely love exploring all of the unique homes in ATX and would love to help anyone else do the same.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Real estate is so much more than cute outfits and opening doors. I’ve had days where my client just lost their 5th offer and I take on their feelings of disappointment. The Austin market can be tough. I have gone in 90-degree heat just to put 100 door hangers out for marketing myself to not get a call. Most people don’t realize how much money realtors may have to spend to get that one closing, not to mention, the fees and membership costs. Realtors are commission only, so without that closing on the table we don’t make anything for helping people. It can get just as frustrating sometimes as it is rewarding other times.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My passion to help others has allured me to where I am today. As a Realtor, my first priority is to make sure my clients are happy. Listening to my clients’ wants and needs to achieve the best outcome in every transaction is of the utmost importance. I strive to ensure that the buying and selling journey is fun, an educational experience, smooth and try to make it as stress-free as possible. My experiences of having lived here all of my life give me a desire to make my home, your home.

I think what sets me apart from other agents is my dedication and care to each individual client. I truly listen to what they are wanting and I do my best to provide them with their dream home. I also LOVE building personalized closing gifts.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
I think truly what matters most is my relationship with people. I want my clients to feel like they’re friends and I’m just the home matchmaker for them. I think relationships you have in any aspect of life are of the upmost importance. I also think word of mouth and referrals from people close to you go so much further than any marketing material I could ever use or have.
