Daily Inspiration: Meet Sonnet

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sonnet.

Hi Sonnet, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up in Los Angeles with my parents in the entertainment industry. I wrote my first single in middle school, Euphoria. I feel like I have always been into music . The only thing that expanded was my taste. I really love rock music. I feel like it feeds me. Life experiences and opportunities continue to guide me today. I am currently working between three cities: New York, LA, and Austin. It’s all home to me.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There definitely have been struggles. I wrote the album NFS in 2022, as a way to process trauma in my life at the suggestion of my therapist. Music is healing to me. It allows me to say what I want without interruption. Unapologetically. As an emerging artist I want to push others through my art and music to do what they love. It’s freedom.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Aside from being a musician with dreams, I am a singer / songwriter who has written for an off Broadway play and films as well. I am most proud of my hustle and resilience in the music industry. I make my own path and open the door for others. My organic sound and music collaborative processes set me apart. It’s a way of making a statement and being original.

I’ve always had a soft spot for “Adore You” by Miley Cyrus. It’s one of those songs that just “hits”. Covering it with the band felt super raw and real — I stripped it back and let the emotion speak for itself. No fluff, just feeling. It drops. April 19th, on all platforms and I’m so hyped for you to hear it.

Also — I’m playing ”The Shrine” in NYC on May 31st at 7pm and hitting “You Me She” Fest September 13, 2025. Pull up, it’s gonna be a whole vibe.
