Today we’d like to introduce you to Marilyn Soto.
Hi Marilyn , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story truly began in the military, from which I retired in 2018. Transitioning back into civilian healthcare, I spent time as a travel nurse during the height of the pandemic. Experiencing COVID-19 on the front lines was a massive eye-opener; witnessing so much suffering made me realize how many chronic diseases and illnesses could actually be prevented or delayed if patients had the right guidance. Fueled by a desire to make a deeper impact—and with the unwavering support and encouragement of my husband—I went back to school to earn my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in family practice. I absolutely loved caring for everyone from pediatric patients to the geriatric population, focusing on holistic, preventative wellness.
During this time, a very close friend invited me to attend an aesthetics training. That experience was both scary and deeply eye-opening. Coming from a rigorous medical background, I was shocked to learn that in Texas, almost anyone can call themselves an “injector” after taking a quick one- or two-day course. It made me reflect on my own experience as a client getting filler years prior—I remembered how rushed the visit felt, how uninformative the provider was, and how I was hurried along so they could move to the next person.
I quickly realized that there is so much more to aesthetics than people think. It requires a profound understanding of facial anatomy, managing potential adverse effects, and specialized safety protocols. The average client simply doesn’t know what they don’t know; they rely entirely on the injector, often unaware that it is completely acceptable—and vital—to ask a provider about their specific experience, medical credentials, and training.
Driven to do things differently, my best friend and I decided to team up. We started out offering concierge, in-home services, and it was incredible. We met so many amazing people who, for one reason or another, couldn’t easily leave their homes but still deserved to feel good, look pretty, and receive safe, high-quality medical care.
I fell in love with the community we built. Wow, did we meet some incredible people—many of whom I still treat today. What began as a mobile passion project eventually grew into a permanent home. Today, as the provider behind Rejuvenation Medical Aesthetics and Texas Family Clinica, I’m proud to offer a brick-and-mortar sanctuary where clinical safety, patient education, and holistic wellness come together, ensuring my patients never feel rushed and always feel empowered.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Has it been a smooth road? Not at all. Anyone who tells you building a business is easy hasn’t done it.
One of the hardest but most freeing lessons I had to learn early on is that you simply cannot satisfy 100% of the people 100% of the time. When you pour your heart, your medical credentials, and your personal time into a practice, it’s tough not to take things personally. But clinical boundaries and staying true to your vision mean accepting that you aren’t for everyone—and that’s okay.
Then there is the business side of things. Marketing and ads—don’t even get me started on ads! As a new business owner, you quickly realize there are so many scammers out there waiting to prey on startups. Some of them are incredibly sophisticated, and it is entirely too easy to throw hard-earned money down a drain before you figure out who is legitimate.
If I could give any advice to someone starting out, it’s two things:
Find a mentor: You cannot do this alone. Having a trusted mentor in your corner to bounce ideas off of and steer you away from common pitfalls is invaluable.
Keep it simple: You do not need to have all the latest, most expensive equipment right out of the gate. Flashy machines don’t build a practice; your hands, your clinical judgment, and how you treat people do.
Every struggle has just forced me to become a smarter business owner and a more resilient provider. It wasn’t smooth, but the bumps are what made the foundation solid.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
What you should know about my brand is that it was built on a dual foundation: expert clinical safety and accessible, high-quality care. Through Rejuvenation Medical Aesthetics and Texas Family Clinica, I have created a unique space where medical wellness and advanced aesthetics live under one roof.
We are known for a holistic, results-driven approach to beauty and wellness. On the aesthetics side, we specialize in the precise administration of neurotoxins, dermal fillers, and advanced biostimulators. But we don’t just stop at the surface. We are deeply invested in regenerative medicine and functional wellness, utilizing cutting-edge peptide therapies, medical-grade weight management, and targeted skincare protocols to heal and revitalize the body from the inside out.
On the healthcare side, we provide dedicated family practice care. Because we are still a young, growing business navigating our own growing pains, we are rolling things out intentionally. Right now, our family practice services are focusing on telehealth and limited, cash-pay Direct Primary Care (DPC) services. However, we are rapidly expanding, and our comprehensive, full-service family practice clinic will officially open its doors in late summer to serve everyone from pediatric patients to the geriatric population.
Two major things set us apart in a highly crowded industry:
Advanced Medical Credentials: In a landscape where short courses can qualify almost anyone as an “injector,” I bring the clinical rigor of a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). We don’t do “rushed” appointments. Every patient receives an in-depth anatomical assessment, transparent education about potential adverse effects, and a highly customized treatment plan.
A Collaborative, Full-Spectrum Approach: I have the unique joy of cross-referencing and collaborating with my amazing staff member, who is a licensed cosmetologist, a certified phlebotomist, and a soon-to-be nursing student. When dealing with complex cases or clients who simply aren’t ready for injectables yet, we combine our unique skill sets. By blending advanced clinical aesthetics with expert medical-grade skin therapies, we are able to build the absolute best, most enhanced treatment plan for each individual client’s optimal outcomes.
A Focus on Education and Patient Empowerment: We believe a good provider doesn’t just treat you; they teach you. We actively encourage our patients to ask about our training and credentials because transparency builds trust.
I am most proud of the relationships we have formed within the office and outside.
If there is one thing I want your readers to take away, it is this: Aesthetics and primary care are real medicine, and they belong in safe, highly trained hands.
When you choose us, you are not just booking a quick, transactional treatment; you are investing in a dedicated, clinical partnership. We are deliberately navigating the growing pains of a young business because we refuse to cut corners on your health or your confidence.
Here is exactly what we offer and how we are here to serve you:
Honoring Our Military Community: As a veteran of the armed services myself, giving back to our military and veteran families is deeply personal to me. We proudly offer special military discounts and dedicated membership tiers that include priority scheduling.
A Complete Aesthetics & Regenerative Menu: We are fully open for in-clinic aesthetic services, specializing in natural-looking dermal fillers, neurotoxins, biostimulators, and advanced peptide therapies. By collaborating closely with our in-house cosmetologist/phlebotomist, we also provide comprehensive, non-injectable skin health therapies.
A Different Kind of Primary Care: Our Direct Primary Care (DPC) model is built around you. Our membership plans ensure you get to speak directly with me—your provider—without ever feeling rushed. Members benefit from wholesale cash-pay pricing on diagnostic labs and imaging, saving you significant out-of-pocket costs. For your convenience, Health Savings Accounts (HSA) are gladly accepted, and flexible payment plans are available.
Giving Back with Free Summer Screenings: We love staying connected to our community, holding fun, educational events throughout the year. To truly give back to the people who support us, we are launching free and low-cost health screenings this summer to catch preventable illnesses early.
Our Full Launch on the Horizon: While we are currently accepting patients for convenient telehealth and limited DPC services, our brick-and-mortar family practice clinic will officially open its doors in late summer to provide comprehensive, full-service care for everyone from pediatric to geriatric patients.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
If I could leave your readers with one final piece of advice, it’s this: You are never too old to start taking care of yourself, and self-care is absolutely not selfish. Investing in your health and confidence is the best thing you can do for yourself and the people who depend on you.
I also want to bust a major myth: aesthetics is not just for women. Men deserve to feel confident and refreshed, too! In fact, with Father’s Day just around the corner, we have something special planned. This June, we are hosting a “Brotox & Brews” event—it’s the perfect, laid-back opportunity for the men in our community to check out what we do, learn about subtle, natural enhancements, and enjoy a great brew.
Finally, accessibility is everything to us. To best serve our diverse community, our practice is proudly bilingual. ¡Ofrecemos servicios en español! No matter your background, we want you to feel completely comfortable and understood the moment you connect with us.
Whether you visit us for a subtle confidence boost, join our DPC family, or drop by one of our community events, you will always be educated, never rushed, and treated with the highest level of medical integrity. We are growing to serve you better, and we can’t wait to welcome you!
