Hi April and James, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Two Shakes and A Twist Mobile Bar was born out of our own wedding planning journey.
When we were searching for a bartending service for our big day, we quickly realized how hard it was to find a company that truly stood out. One that delivered quality, personality, and custom drink experiences without hidden fees or complicated packages.
So we decided to create what we were looking for.
We wanted to offer couples and event hosts something better: a stress-free, dry-hire bartending experience with custom cocktails, transparent pricing, and service that actually feels personal.
We pride ourselves on the quality of service and last weekend we just celebrated our 100th event, a major milestone. We have amazing reviews and love the impact we have made on the bartending services industry. We are ready for the next 100 events.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Has it been a smooth road? Like any small business, we have definitely had a few bumps along the way, but honestly, those challenges are what have helped shape Two Shakes & a Twist into the business it is today.
Every challenge has pushed us to grow, get creative, and become better for each client we serve. For example, we have had couples ask us to recreate favorite restaurant cocktails for their wedding or event. Instead of guessing, we actually went to the restaurant, tasted the drinks, studied the flavor profile, and then went back to our own test kitchen to create a version that felt just right for them. That extra effort is something we take pride in.
One of the bigger challenges has been breaking into the wedding industry. Some venues say they have a “preferred vendor” list, but in reality, a lot of times it is a required vendor list. That can make it hard for newer businesses to get a chance to prove themselves. It is almost like applying for your first job and being told you need years of experience before anyone will give you the opportunity.
Thankfully, we have also found some incredible venues and clients who were willing to give us that chance. Once we are in the room, we know we can shine. Those opportunities have allowed us to show what we are all about: great service, great drinks, and going above and beyond to make the event feel special. Now with over a year and 100 events of history we are just being to soar.
So no, it has not always been perfectly smooth, but the road has absolutely been worth it. Every bump has made us stronger, more prepared, and even more passionate about creating a stress-free and memorable bar experience for our clients.

At our core, we do more than just pour drinks. We help create an experience. From professional bartending and custom cocktail menus to bar rentals, mixers, garnishes, beverage stations, mocktails, and thoughtful setup details, we work with our clients to make the bar a memorable impression on the event.
We are probably best known for our signature cocktails, we have a special recipe or two that have been a big hit, , personalized menus, friendly service, fast service, and willingness to go above and beyond. Whether it is recreating a couple’s favorite restaurant drink, designing a custom bar menu around their pets or love story, or helping a client figure out exactly how much alcohol and mixers they need, we want the process to feel easy and exciting instead of overwhelming.
What sets us apart is the personal care we put into every event. We pour our hearts into every single event and put effort into making each event unique and special.
