Hidden Gems: Meet Stephen Condon of Bossman Brands

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephen Condon.

Hi Stephen, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, I am an artist and an entrepreneur. As far as my art, I have been drawing and entering contests since I was a child. Been selling physical large paintings since I was 18. Slowly have been testing new techniques and expanding my styles of art.

As far as business, I have a degree in graphic design and branding. Started making companies right after college. First company was a promotional company hiring teams to work big events for large brands. After that, I build probably 5 bars in the downtown Austin area. MY first bar was called Canvas Bar & Gallery where I sold my art and painted live every Friday and Saturday night. After too many years in the service industry, I decided it’s time to start a more scalable company. Noticed beards were about to become a trend, so I started playing with oils and butters and became one of the first beard care companies in the USA. I caught the wave and Bossman Brands has been scaling ever since and expanded into a total Men’s Grooming Care line.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Everything was a struggle in business. The bars learning how to deal with permitting, to staffing issues, all the way to plumbing issues. haha

In ecommerce, learning everything yourself from LLC to trademarks, to website construction to online ads. I’ve had major hiccups in manufacturing companies, to logistics, to inventory issues.

As far as my art. No real struggles. It is my scapegoat from business and every day life. It’s just fortunate I get to sell my hobby for pretty good $.

We’ve been impressed with Bossman Brands, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I said a lot about Bossman in the last sequence. Otherwise, I am the face of the business, most all videos and advertising outlets I am in for the company. I also design all my products in the line. Bossman blew up due to the products always staying innovative. Never a copy. We have beard products, hair, skin and more. bossmanbrand.com, whole foods or amazon prime.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Wasn’t really a factor with my business. Only issues I have seen is my manufacturing companies having staffing issues and lead times have almost doubled. Same with my Asian bottle-making plants.
