Today we’d like to introduce you to Sequoia Williams

Hi Sequoia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Being born and raised in Austin, Texas, and I grew up in different parts of the city. In my early twenties, I entered the corporate workforce and became a mother soon after to my now 13-year-old daughter, Mackenzie. I later transitioned into an administrative role with a local government agency. In 2024, after facing a series of financial setbacks, I decided to create an additional stream of income by becoming a commissioned notary public and launching a mobile notary business serving Austin and the surrounding areas.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say the road has not been smooth. Balancing parenthood and working full-time comes with its own challenges and adding entrepreneurship into the mix has made it even more demanding. My biggest struggle has been gaining exposure. The notary market in Austin is highly competitive, so marketing oneself and networking to build a strong clientele is essential to growing my business.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Signature Notary Solutions?
My business provides notary public services to Austin and surrounding area with many different options whether in-person and/or online notarizations, loan signings for real estate transactions, as well as apostille notarization services to clients who need their documents authenticated for international use with the Secretary of State. I’m really proud of how far my notary business has come. Starting out, I knew Austin had a lot of competition, but I’ve been able to build something solid by staying consistent, networking, and learning along the way. Seeing my brand grow and knowing I’m actually helping people makes all the hard work worth it.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters to me is dedication and support. No matter how much time I have—whether it’s 10 minutes or 10 hours—every effort I put into growing my business brings me one step closer to my goal of building a strong brand. It’s not always about how much time I have, but about being consistent and intentional with the time I do have. My daughter, Mackenzie is my biggest motivation, I want to show her that in spite of life’s obstacles striving to obtain whatever goal’s you’ve set for yourself are possible with dedication. As well as having a great support system, my fiancée and family’s support give me the strength and motivation to pursue my dreams, knowing that I have a solid foundation to fall back on no matter what challenges come my way.
