Meet Amy Maples and Brian Hackworth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Maples and Brian Hackworth.

Hi Amy and Brian, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We have always looked for ways to create passive income/mailbox money and realized a few years ago that through Instagram, we could monetize our love for travel and my love for fashion. Definitely a win/win! We really looked at this as a way to travel for free and not much else at the time. Starting off, we took our love for nachos, our blonde locks, and our goal to create a life together that is anything but average, and created NachoAvgBlondies! We really had no idea of where to go from there at the time but by consistent research, endless hours of photography/editing classes, and A LOT of bickering, we have realized that we still have a long way to go but are enjoying every minute of it. What has gotten us through all of the chaos is lifestyle goal that we both share.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth… Ha!!!! Entering into a field that you both know very little about, is constantly evolving, and is very competitive is something that we would definitely have second guessed if we knew the full scope of what we were getting into at the time. We both work in sales for our day jobs and spend just about every other second of our day working on this passion. Constantly having to up your creativity game can be exhausting but learning and actually creating your vision is priceless. When we started, we did not own a camera or had ever used one, never done any kind of creative writing, knew nothing about the inner workings of Instagram algorithms…. And have two very different work ethics.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I guess at the end of the day; it would be a safe to call us social influencers/content creators. We have become successful at creating brand awareness for our clients while also converting the content we produce into sales boosts for the brands. As mentioned previously, we really just wanted to create an avenue to travel for free however it has become much more than that. Our ultimate goal now is to be able to adapt with within this field and turn this into a full time lifestyle. A big part of what helps us and sets us apart is that we are doing this as a couple and can be relatable to that demographic.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Determination, work ethic, patience, and a little bit of obsessiveness has really made all of the difference. The same would be required for any type of entrepreneurial endeavor but we are lucky enough to share these values together and it is a game changer when both of you are on the same page… Most of the time 🙂
