Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Heckler and Megan Crane.
Hi Lindsey and Megan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Lindsey and I became immediate friends in preschool and had a shared our love of fashion, film, and creating shoots. Our parents joked, “It was like being in a documentary”. Starting with our disposable cameras, our VHS television show “The M&L show” we have always loved documenting and designing photoshoots. We thrived outside in our backyard recreating Castaway and having our moms film us in the kitchen dancing to Brittney Spears. And just like then, we let our imagination lead the way in all of our work. We have always wanted to have a production company and work with each other and now we are finally doing it. Helping others tell their story – be it products or a brand- and capturing it in a way that their uniqueness shines is our passion at Cahoot House.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think our biggest struggle has been just taking the leap and putting our plan in action. It was challenging to turn over our passion and love for creating into something that functions as a business and keeping it light and fun. We have realized we can share our talents with other creatives in a way that’s profitable and open up so many more opportunities on both ends.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
One thing that sets us apart is how we use our vintage influence; we pay a tribute to the past but still make it current. I’m proud of the content we create and how we let each project have a voice and how that voice is heard through art. I love how well Lindsey and I work together. We seem to know what each other is thinking and execute accordingly, it’s truly a gift to be able to connect and create together. – Megan
I’d say we are known for unique photoshoots and out of the box content. I am most proud of our ability to evolve creatively with our shoots and Megan and I each bring something new and bright to the table each time we get together. – Lindsey
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Most important lesson I’ve learned is to stop procrastinating, Start Today. – Megan
I’ve learned that nothing is too far fetch, you just have to be bold enough to do it. – Lindsey
