Meet Neha Sampat of Contentstack

Today we’d like to introduce you to Neha Sampat.

Neha Sampat

Hi Neha, I am so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, how can you bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Pomona, California, where my family settled after leaving India, and I learned early on that I needed to bet on myself. I was motivated to earn my allowance from customers rather than my parents. When I was about 11 years old, I started my first business, which fully ignited my passion for entrepreneurship and desire to understand every facet of growing a business. Fast Forward to the height of the dot com boom, I founded my own public relations firm in Silicon Valley and eventually had to shut down after the crash. After an internship with Sun Microsystems, I decided to go back to school and get my MBA and landed in the tech world. After a few career transitions, I ventured into entrepreneurship and founded three successful tech startups: Raw Engineering, Built.io, and Contentstack.

Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Not! I have pivoted many times throughout my career from one job to another, one industry to the next, graduating with one degree and going back for another, founding a company and failing, then founding a company and succeeding. There will always be setbacks, but don’t let setbacks completely halt progression. Start with the right mindset, and everything else will follow.

I appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Contentstack?
At Contentstack, our vision is to pursue equity and use technology to break down barriers and enable people to unlock their highest potential. Contentstack is a composable digital experience platform (DXP) provider that helps enterprises worldwide quickly create digital experiences, encompassing everything from websites to mobile apps and e-commerce platforms, manage it all efficiently, and ultimately help them make and save more money. Legacy monolithic platforms may try to deliver omnichannel experiences, but they struggle to keep up with the changing needs of today’s consumers. We believe that composable is the future of technology, so our mission is to help enterprises move from expensive, hard-to-use, monolithic systems to composable architectures, allowing them to be flexible and scalable to respond to changing customer and market demands.

What sets Contentstack apart is our foundation built on company culture, rate of innovation, and customer-centric approach. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive workplace where everyone can feel safe, comfortable, respected, positive, and productive, a place where we feel empowered to bring our best, most authentic selves to work. Our culture is built on solid values rooted in community, integrity, and care. Our “Care without Compromise” philosophy, rooted in our origins as a services company, underpins our steadfast commitment not to let any of our customers fail. Additionally, Contentstack boasts an unrivaled rate of innovation, introducing over 350 product updates annually through our Software as a Service (SaaS) model, with 50% of functionality releases stemming directly from customer requests. Our customer-centric and innovation-motivated approach has resulted in our best-in-breed technology solutions and integrations like Automation Hub, Live Preview, OpenAI ChatGPT, Contentstack Launch, and more.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some changes you expect to see over the next five to ten years?
The pandemic accelerated the need for an easy and fast digital experience. Enormous expectations for quick, high-quality digital experiences are the highest they’ve ever been. Enterprises must realize that to meet consumer expectations, they must shift to composable technologies. The industry is heading towards the same trajectory over the next 5-10 years, but the rate of change will most likely increase. Responsible AI and automation will also supercharge content generation and delivery across many channels, making new, fresh content available at record – or even real-time speeds.
