Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachael Warfield.
Hi Rachael , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
From as early as I can remember, I wanted to be a singer and a performer. I was so passionate, even as a child. I began training in voice lessons and piano lessons at about five, and I ardently just wanted to create and refine my skills as much as possible. By eight, I was performing lead roles in many musical theater showcases in Jacksonville, Fl, and by fourteen, I started training at Douglas Anderson school of the arts where I majored in vocal music with a focus on piano.
The following year, I moved to Miami and signed with Global Media Music, and worked and studied under the mentorship of producer Tony Coluccio (who did original remixes for Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Donna Summer, and Gloria Estefan). I did extensive artist development with him for eight years, developing greatly as a songwriter and a musician.
By 2010, I was performing in music venues and clubs throughout the east and west village in New York City, as well as international venues in The Dominican Republic, showcasing my original music. Shortly after, I released my debut single “Out of my Mind”, which opened the Springing the Blues Music Festival in 2013 in Florida.
The following year, I signed an independent record deal with Ennecho, spawning my single, ‘California Time’, with Grammy -nominated producer, Anthony Bell. Soon after, I was invited to perform in Toronto alongside major artists for Canadian Music Week.
In 2017, I launched my own label, Rox Records, and began focusing on building my catalog of original music, and performing regionally with my band. In 2019, I was able to open up for Jesse McCartney in a Holiday concert series in Florida, and in 2020, I was invited to perform in The Strawberry Music Festival with Patti LaBelle.
In 2021, I began working on my EP with Grammy- nominated producer, Anthony Bell in Los Angeles. Several singles from this body of work have been released thus far, and can be found on Spotify, and all major streaming services. The EP will include recordings by Grammy- nominated saxophonist Scott Mayo, as well as background vocals by four- time Grammy winning artist, Jazmine Sullivan, to be released in Fall 2026.
Following my EP release, ‘Catch me in the rhythm’, I will be performing shows throughout the southwest and southeast in the Spring of 2027. For upcoming show dates in Austin then, stay updated on my website, RachaelWarfield.com.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been full of challenges and adversities, as well as incredible rewards and blessings. I think one of the greatest lessons that I’ve learned along the way is that authenticity is paramount in creating a real body of work as an artist, that translates to listeners, and emotively connects with people across all space, time, and differences. It’s a very spiritual process, making music, you’re always making it with the divine. Sometimes it’s being channeled to you, and sometimes it’s just a very real free- fall into yourself in the most intimate of ways.
With that being said, it is very much a prelude, as to how I navigate this road as an artist, and within my career and personal life. I’m a very spiritual person, and I listen deeply to what feels right and aligned for me, and what simply does not. We’re always being guided, and it’s so important for me to listen to that guidance, and to be connected deeply to myself and the music as I evolve as person and an artist, this is how I’ve learned to discern what is true and real for me and what is not.
I think it’s incredibly important to work with a team that understands your vision for your art, and supports and expands your ability to show up in your work authentically. For me, that’s what creating my label, Rox records, was about; allowing myself to create freely, authentically, and put all of myself into the music without allowing other people to inhibit me and my art. I’m so grateful to be working with a team of people that supports the realization of my artistic visions every day, and expands in ways that feel honest and aligned for me.
