Today we’d like to introduce you to Beaux Cherry
Hi Beaux, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Formed in 2024 through mutual friends, Beaux Cherry (guitar, vocals), Hunter Lockhart (guitar), Sean Whalin (drums), Jayce Roman (bass) and Clayton Bliss (keys) make up The Red Eye Gamblers. The five piece band took weekly jam sessions in a garage to stages across Texas. Together, they make up a southern rock band with a rambling, unforgettable psychedelic groove.
Known for their extended jams throughout songs, and dueling solos, they make sure each and every show is a unique experience and something you’ll not want to miss.
The Red Eye Gamblers released their first single “Let You Down Easy” in October 2024 and have gained close to 5K streams. They have already recorded two more singles and the next launch campaign starts at SXSW this March.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The Red Eye Gamblers began as a group of friends exploring music together. For all but one member of the group, this project has been their first experience being in a band. Through their mutual desire to create something original, Beaux, Hunter, Jayce, and Sean began writing original songs in early 2024. With shared taste for the blues, southern rock, and psychedelic jams, the group gelled and rapidly began improving in their respective instruments.
As they improved, and added 5th member Clayton on keys, the 5 fully formed The Red Eye Gamblers, and decided to seek out their first live show. They were quickly asked to perform at parties for friends in Austin, playing for packed crowds in backyards. They soon began playing shows at venues across Texas including the legendary Carousel Lounge and Poodie’s Roadhouse.
The Red Eye Gamblers are a family business. While they are made up of 5 musicians, there is a huge team of partners, friends, and family that have all come together to elevate, promote, book, and record their journey as a band. Beaux, Clayton, Hunter, Jayce, and Sean all have made connections that have led them to gigging opportunities, as well as recording studio time. Thanks to their massive support, The Red Eye Gamblers have found few challenges, and more celebrations as milestones keep coming their way.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The Red Eye Gamblers first single “Let You Down Easy” is a rocking song full of guitar and bass licks, an upbeat groove, and twangy vocals. The song encapsulates how it feels to finally leave a relationship that only drags you down. Whether it be with a partner, bad habits, or addiction, “Let You Down Easy” is an anthem for all who need to simply say “goodbye.”
The Red Eye Gamblers will be releasing their newest single “Whiskey Memories” in the Spring of 2025. “Whiskey Memories” is a song about reminiscing on a past of debauchery, and the challenge to look within and consider how to learn and grow as a person from those experiences. Featuring instrumental breakdowns and a masterful guitar solo, “Whiskey Memories” is a fan favorite at live shows and hopes to be a breakout moment for The Red Eye Gamblers.
However the true pride & joy of The Red Eye Gamblers are their live shows. Known for never playing the same setlist twice, even fans who have never missed a show since the backyard days will never truly know what to expect when the band takes the stage. As the 5 grow their skills and chemistry as musicians, songs take on a life of their own and become more creative, longer, build, release, and take audiences on a journey that is unique at every turn. With a deep catalogue of music, the group can effortlessly blend songs into one another making it seem like the music may never stop.
How do you define success?
The Red Eye Gamblers find successes with every milestone. Every live show, every fan dancing, every smile on an audience member’s face, and every handshake with a stranger after the show make the long nights of practice worth it for the band.
One of their greatest successes came with the release of their first single “Let You Down Easy.” The song was the band’s introduction to streaming platforms and their gateway into bigger and better opportunities.
With the success of their first single, upcoming release of their 2nd “Whiskey Memories,” and reputation of unforgettable live performances, The Red Eye Gamblers secured their debut at South By Southwest as an official artist for the 2025 festival.
