Hi Nina, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Fashion has helped pave the way to my success and I have been blessed with the opportunity to use this magazine as a way of giving back. Every donation of material or monetary contribution will serve to make an even larger impact as I am pivoting my community-driven company to give back in the most innovative way possible. This initiative will be the building block that invite others to help serve my life’s purpose.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My only goal in life is to master the art of perspective, and this is how I determine life’s turbulence. Whether smooth or rough, three principles I stand by are: progress, not perfection, don’t rest on your laurels and master the art of perspective.. i love and accept myself exactly how I am- I use this affirmation to remind myself that I am enough.: I welcome abundance- I use this affirmation to invite elevation into my life. Every struggle has built strength. Therefore, I don’t consider them struggles at all.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Nina Sarahphina is the name of a brand owned and created by Nina Henderson with the mission to incorporate fashion, fitness, and fine arts- creating a unique way of using them as tools for creative development. There is Style Studio Wardrobe & Production, where I work as creative director, wardrobe stylist, and ambassador. Style Studio ATX (better known as Nina Sarahphina’s Style Studio) is my fashion Haus where 100s of curated styles are available to buy and lease. The newest addition to my brand is the introduction of Nina Sarahphina Magazine featuring The Nina Collective.
The Nina Collective is an illustrative component of Fashion for change, an approach that provides ample opportunities for local talent including models, photographers, beauty industries and other diverse creatives to display their talents and offer them to the world. We are also launching our new website where subscribers will be granted access to exclusive promotions from local sponsors and contributors.
I want to leave a legacy that will disassemble creative boundaries and provide an entrepreneurial outlet for artists of generations to follow.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
As I child, I was as over the top as I am today, but I was also overweight, overlooked, and an overachiever. I often chose to be in the spotlight to mask my insecurities. It was my 4th-grade year in elementary school that I had a glimpse of my true potential. During one of the annual dance workshops at my performance company, I was awarded a full scholarship among hundreds of dancers throughout Texas. I knew then that nothing could stop me from giving myself a chance at anything I could imagine.
