Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie & Bradley Rogers.
Hi Stephanie & Bradley, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
We got married in 2010 and bought our first camera for our honeymoon in Chicago. Not too long after we got back from our honeymoon, we received our wedding photos. Shockingly, our honeymoon photos as hobby photographers were better than our wedding photos. Stephanie found a passion to begin wedding photography within the following year in 2011 as “Stephanie Rogers Photography”. When Bradley graduated from UNT in 2014, we decided to go full-time as wedding photographers. After being in the wedding industry for a few years we decided to branch out and explore boudoir photography. We immediately fell in love with what boudoir photography offered people and began our boudoir brand “Amorous Boudoir” in 2018.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has been relatively smooth. When Stephanie started photography she began it alongside her full-time retail job. By the time we went full-time together, the brand was already partially established. The biggest struggle for us has been finding the right work/life balance. No one really taught us how to set work boundaries, such as how to create a structured work schedule while working from home, not overbooking, scheduling time off, and finding hobbies and enjoyment outside of running our business. It took a while to figure all of this out but we feel like we are finally where we want to be.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Our brand Amorous Boudoir as the name implies does boudoir photography. Our tagline, “The next step in your self-love journey” guides us creatively to provide a fun/safe space where our clients can feel beautiful and empowered. We’ve been most proud of the response we’ve received from our clients in how the experience has genuinely impacted their lives for the better. We never get tired of hearing people’s reactions to seeing themselves in a way they never had before. The primary thing that sets us apart from others is the fact that we are a husband and wife team. We are two individual artists so every session has two distinct perspectives that complement each other perfectly.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Finding a community is essential in finding support. Whether it’s a Facebook group, online forum, or local meetup having a place where you can ask questions without judgment is key.
