Community Highlights: Meet Rohini Sundar of Rose Make-up Artristry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rohini Sundar.

Hi Rohini, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am a professional MUD (Make-up Designory, USA) Certified make-up artist behind Rose Make-up Artistry primarily based out of Austin, Texas. My passion for beauty, art and fashion influenced my life’s path at an early age. After completing my Bachelor’s degree in Bio-technology, I worked on 3D cell culture, regenerative medicine and pharmaceutical production. Art has been my long-time passion, and I have always enjoyed make-up on myself and on others. To fuel my passion, I came up with my own business, the encouragement I received from friends and with all the support from my family, I became a make-up artist.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth ride. I am a mother of two kids, when I started this business, my son was five years and my daughter was a two years old. I enrolled myself to professional classes and received an immense support from my husband without whom I would not be able to achieve this. The initial struggles I faced was definitely to form a good customer base and gaining their trust. I worked very hard, irrespective of time and money to understand the customers and listen to their needs and work things out for them accordingly. Every happy review that I was left with after the events motivated me to get more customers through referrals. I did not come from an entrepreneur background nor I had much help. The entire process was only through self-learning and persistently trying.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
