Today we’d like to introduce you to Avery Reid Jr.
Hi Avery, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been interested in photography but I never really felt like it was something I could do full time. Last father’s day, my wife, Shaniqua of 12 years along with my three children Avery III, Aveyon, and Avr’iana gifted me my first camera. From then it’s been my happy place and business. Now midway through my second season I’d say the biggest thing is to get started.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My first year was pretty rough. I had some agreements and opportunities fall through that made things difficult. Not to mention how expensive camera equipment is. Central Texas in particular has a lot of photographers, so it’s difficult to find something to make you stand out in such a competitive market. Things are a lot smoother now having an established portfolio & business strategy.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a fotographer, and I take fotos. I specialize in portraits, sports, nature, landscapes, real estate. Despite being well versed, I’m most known for my sports fotography. My biggest accomplishment so far has been booking over 40 athletes in one game. What sets me apart is the experience and professionalism, my fotos are also pretty good.
How do you define success?
Success is defined to me by how big of an impact your work and business have on its community.
