Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Bellz.
Hi Melissa, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been Djing for six years this year I moved from Cleveland Ohio to Austin in 2017, I had never been to Texas, and knew no one here! I just wanted a fresh start in a new city! I started Djing because I have a deep love for music! Also, controlling the vibes in the room is what I live for.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was not easy at all, I knew no one here and Austin is a very different place. It wasn’t as diverse when I first got here, but it is definitely changing and growing FAST! Year three is when I started to see a big change personally with my Dj career! Before that, I was overworking and being underpaid, a real humble grind, but I always make sure to keep good relationships with people that is what made me overcome so much.

I am a female DJ. I currently Dj a lot of events here in Austin and surrounding areas. I am known to provide memorable events and turn up the parties!
Who else deserves credit in your story?
Down South CaJJun Eats -The restaurant -Provided me with a consistent residency. EncoreATX-Constantly booked me and opened the door for me to get a name out there. So many others who consistently book and support me! Thanks to them all! Down to the kind words, simple repost, or recommendation, I’m super appreciative!
