Hi Ramsey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
U7 Austin DJ’s experience spans decades from rocking house parties to clubs, to festivals, to charity galas to corporate events to weddings.
I started out as a club kid in downtown Austin dancing the night away and from there I knew I wanted to be the music conductor for the underground club kids of the 90s. So I began DJing in my bedroom, practicing till I had the confidence to DJ in front of a group of peers. It didn’t take long before my hobby as a DJ became my passion and soon after a major career move. From underground parties, I leveled up to residencies in downtown Austin clubs. In 2019, I started my company, Under 7 Productions which is now been rebranded to U7 Austin DJ.
Because my DJ background is founded in Downtown Austin club world, I can throw down international flavors to keep the dance floor moving at multi-cultural celebrations. I am also well known for keeping a full dance floor with multi-generational tunes that keep all ages dancing. I can comfortably cover music from the last 70 years from soul to funk to disco to rock to EDM and beyond. And, I mix it all together seamlessly to provide a well-concocted blend that fuels nonstop dancing for you and your guests!
Whether your event is held; in a ballroom, on the beach, in a barn, or on a boat, it’s a time of joyous celebration while also being an intense dance party. And, that’s where I step in with my experienced personal touch and years of knowledge as a DJ. I work closely with my clients throughout the entire event planning process to ensure that I:
1. Achieve my client’s musical vision and
2. The day of the event is flawless because I keep the energy of the dance floor flowing.
On your event day, I want you to remember me as the background maestro who ran your event smoothly and provided the perfect tunes for a smashing dance party. The music I play is for you and picked by you because I know your event isn’t about me, it’s about you, your guests and celebrating your best life.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When you do what you love and love what you do, the passion out ways the struggles. For me, my love of DJing has always been strong and I get so much pleasure from being part of the celebration and watching the dance floor turn into a community. I find my work satisfying even when I am playing open format or have a request sheet for guests, their happiness is my pleasure.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a live event professional DJ that specializes in electronic dance music and I am known for creating epic moments on the dance floor for; weddings, private parties and corporate events around Austin, Texas and beyond. I built my company U7 Austin DJ from the ground up and U7 didn’t just survive the COVID- 19 hit on the gig economy, my company, U7 Austin DJ thrived, growing at a time when so many odds were against the entertainment field.
I believe my customer service is what sets me apart from others and I am eternally grateful for all the clients that have booked my services in the past two years throughout the pandemic. Austinites are the best, without them I wouldn’t be able to do what I love, which is throw epic dance parties for people all over central Texas.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I have learnt as a DJ is to keep a balanced life. The DJ lifestyle can be taxing and you have to take time for your health and well-being. I believe in preventive medicine, exercise, healthy living through diet and mediation is the key to running a company and staying on top of the challenges life throws at you.
