Daily Inspiration: Meet Cameron Thierry, Carlos Mojica & Albert Briceno

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cameron Thierry, Carlos Mojica & Albert Briceno.

Cameron, Carlos & Albert, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Our story has started off as us growing up with each other in the Pflugerville area. We always were sports first and that was very prevalent in our lives. As we have grown up and grown older, our interest in things have shifted. While Cam was in college, Carlos would always talk about starting a podcast. When Cam graduated, Carlos and him knew it was time to gather a plan and put it in action. After a year of brainstorming, getting equipment and making the logos and branding, they knew it was time to unveil it to the public. After not talking to Albert for a while, Albert, cam and Carlos all link up again. They are all substantially different from the days of growing up and being in high school together. Albert has acquired the skills of picking up a camera & taking photos. This has consisted of him wanting to do videography as well as photos to properly illustrate the story. This was perfect for Cam & Carlos with starting a podcast because now they had not only someone that they knew closely but someone that could contribute with the editing process as well.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Some of the obstacles and challenges that were hard for us was just becoming friends again. We hadn’t talked much in the last four years or so, and when we started hanging out again, it felt more like a business or work. So we had to finally take the time to separate actually hanging out and catching up, and then when we needed to film and record stuff. We struggled too with lack on communication on all fronts. We know though after going through these obstacles that it has helped us move forward and shows that we really want this. There was so many times where we could stop, give up, or just split apart. We have kept the group together for the long hall, which has caused us to really be invested into this and what we want moving forward.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
So primarily, our podcast started off as a sports podcast. We Wanted to create this because Carlos & Cam felt they could provide useful insight on sports topics, just like people on tv. We eventually wanted to branch out and really bring the community together. We can really feel this shift with creatives, entrepreneurs, and other young people really wanting to take charge of their lives and do their own thing. We figured we could create our other show “Off-topic”, which would give them an opportunity to talk more about the stuff they do and how they create things and businesses. This has been some of our most successful content and our favorite series that people have liked.

We are in the process of rebranding and becoming a media company. We want to be able to branch out and do other content besides podcast. This will range from the podcast we already have, PCT (Parked Car Talks), vlogs, challenges, tour videos, etc. This will keep us trending upward and won’t put us in a box. We’ll keep expanding on these ideas. We also plan on getting into a studio space within the next year.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Our outlook on the industry is that you have to work hard. Especially as a content creator. Most people find something that is popular and works for them and they stick with that. To really evolve and grow you have to be ever-changing, try stuff and keep testing the waters. If you don’t do this, then you’ll be known for only doing one thing. We want to be a channel and platform and community that has all kinds of universal uses for everyone. To be able to do that, creating an essential team is key. Have to have trust with one another and really take ideas and mold them to the model we’d like to portray.
