Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Ekunwe.
Stephanie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I created Nifty by Nature, a Travel + Style blog as an outlet where I could share feedback from my trips with some of my friends, and now it has evolved into a space where I can create and curate content for the elevated traveler who seeks travel tips and style inspiration from around the world. I’ve lived in many different places, from California to Texas but now call Austin home.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing in this life is “easy”, and if it was, would it be any fun? Maya Angelou once said “Do the best you can until you know better'”. Then when you know better, do better. While many of us enjoy staying connected on social media, excessive use can sometimes give you a sense of anxiety and, isolation which is hard specifically on content creators. This is definitely a struggle for me to try and keep up on social media spending hours shooting, editing, and engaging while balancing other responsibilities that come with being a successful content creator sometimes takes a toll.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
There are several ways to describe something as “nifty”, but my definition is a combination of the following adjectives; stylish, clever, and cool. These are words that describe all of the things that I discover during my travels and what inspires me to come back and blog about them, which is my specialty. I’m so glad that I have this opportunity to create a safe space to share my adventures with everyone, and hope that my readers leave learning something new. This is the meaning behind “Nifty by Nature”.
What does success mean to you?
Success has so many definitions and is tricky to put in one sentence since it is comprised of many things, but to me, it’s having the ability to do something that you are truly passionate about. I know everyone says that, but if you really think about it being able to do something with passion changes your attitude, standpoint, and overall wellbeing/ happiness and that’s what matters the most in life.
