Hidden Gems: Meet Anna Zúñiga of Bright Events Austin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Zúñiga.

Hi Anna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
This all started by being the mom that can’t keep a birthday party simple. I always like to go over the top when it comes to my daughter’s parties. COVID hit and we did a drive-thru party but I wanted something big to still grab everyone’s attention. I made the letters spelling out her name and after posting pictures, I started getting friends asking where I got the letters from and I could make some for them. It all started from there.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all. I didn’t expect this growth. I was expecting to start off slow and learn as it went and it hasn’t been like that.

I’m thankful for the support and love this community has given me. Everyone has been amazing and supportive. They have all been there for help and advise and so much encouragement.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Bright Events Austin specializes in marquee letters and numbers for rent for all types of events. Most proud to be a local small business in this ever growing town and be a born and raised Austin Hispanic women-owned business.

We would like to let our customers know we truly care about being invited into their special moments and milestones of celebration.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Starting this business felt like a big risk. I don’t like to fail at anything I do. I am a perfectionist and detail-oriented. I always want what has my name attached to it to be the best because it represents me. Starting this business felt like I had to check off all the boxes before going “live.” I didn’t feel ready or even where to start. I’m so thankful for the community as they keep reassuring me that I’m doing a good job.
