Today we’d like to introduce you to Cait Ross. She and her team share their story with us below:
Cait is a Business Advisor, Speaker & Corporate Wellness expert. Cait’s love & passion for health, wellness & self-development started from a young age through her journey as a competitive dancer & figure skater. Waking up at 4 am to head to the rink for practice and dedicating her summers to training, she is no stranger to burnout and the mental health implications that a high-achieving lifestyle can often bring.
At age 28, seven years into her banking career as a VP & trusted advisor to C-Suite business leaders — helping businesses to maximize their cash flow & profitability — Cait experienced severe burnout. This burnout resulted in developing a chronic health condition that led her to a series of decisions and life pivots. Cait retired from corporate banking, moved to Austin & launched her own wellness company, Modern Health Pros — helping companies to reinvent workplace wellness to better support employees during times of transition, change & uncertainty. She has helped 50+ organizations and thousands of employees transform their lives & businesses through her transformational resilience program.
At the onset of the pandemic, Cait’s business & mission evolved once again. She found herself being approached by other business owners & entrepreneurs who wanted to tap into the world of corporate clients — many of whom found themselves confused & frustrated when the strategies they were using to find and attract consumer clients were not working to land high-paying B2B and corporate clients.
Currently, Cait is helping mission-driven CEOs, small businesses & tech startups to land their own B2B & corporate clients through science, soul, and strategy. She believes a life worth living is one where each human has a clear sense of purpose and the right community to support their biggest dreams and deepest desires.
She’s also the co-host of Rewire, the Podcast where she and her guests have inspiring conversations on the power of turning pain into purpose — diving deep into topics like neuroplasticity and what it means to rewire our brains to unlock our infinite potential in business and in life.
In her free time, you can find her at one of Austin’s newest restaurants with her partner, Michael; on a walk around the lake with their dog, Pierce; or spending time with friends at Soho House.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have always been wired for high achievement and have found myself burning the candle at both ends at various times in my life. Having had my self-worth tied to my productivity for so many years… it finally caught up with me in the summer of 2016, when I found myself in the ER after experiencing a severe panic attack.
This was the first of many panic attacks to come for a ~ six month period. I had developed a chronic health condition that was wreaking havoc on my body, mind & spirit. While it was the most challenging time in my life, it was also the greatest blessing. The pain & struggle I went through during a ~ two years period to heal my body allowed me to pivot into entrepreneurship and start a company to help others prevent and heal their own unique health challenges while living a life that prioritizes growth and evolution.
Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart. There are always challenging moments or cycles; accepting that not every day will feel or look perfect (far from it!) has been one of the biggest steps for me to live a fully integrated life while building and scaling my business — and most importantly, enjoying my life and the people & experiences that make it so rich.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Cait Ross & Co. is a full-scale consulting & advisory company that helps mission & impact-driven entrepreneurs, small business owners and tech startups to land B2B and corporate clients through science, soul, and strategy.
Cait and her team support her clients by co-creating a go-to-market (GTM) strategy that focuses on B2B client acquisition and delivering a world-class client experience that drives client expansion. In the most basic language, we help you land bigger clients while helping you to keep your current clients wanting more & more.
What makes us different from other consulting, advisory or professional services companies is our commitment and dedication to supporting our clients beyond just strategy. We know that mindset & inner work are significant pieces of building, maintaining or scaling a sustainable business. We incorporate brain-based coaching techniques in the work we do to support business owners in having their dream business and living their dream life. This means putting the clients’ nervous system, their inner talk track, and their daily habits at the foundation of how we support them in creating their businesses.
We currently support our clients through long-term ongoing consulting & advisory retainers, VIP strategy days (in-person or virtual), and team sales training that goes deep into both mindset + strategy. This fall, we are launching a few additional offerings: the Corporate Client Collective — a membership community for serious business owners who want consistent support in all areas of their B2B business — as well as an intimate 8-week Accelerator Program for seasoned entrepreneurs who are new to working with B2B clients and want structured support in building out their B2B offering, + their pricing & initial sales strategy.
We leverage our 12+ years of experience selling 6 & 7-figure solutions to organizations of all shapes and sizes. From small entrepreneurial technology startups to large Fortune 500 enterprises, we know what it takes to become a trusted advisor to businesses and their people. We also leverage Cait’s in-house experience at leading wellness brands and Silicon Valley unicorns to ensure the strategies we build with our clients are aligned with the current needs of their future B2B and corporate customers.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
When I was very young, I was actually quite shy and introverted. I had a deep love for wellness & movement from a young age — dancing and figure skating were huge parts of my life from age 2 – 18. I always had quite an active mind ~ which created a lot of positive (and not so positive) impact on my early years. My family has always been a huge support system for me — my Mom, Dad, younger sister and my Aunts — were always the people I would turn to when I needed support or guidance.
I loved painting, creating & designing from a young age and at various points in time — I wanted to be an architect/designer, a broadcast journalist, and a broadway dancer. Now, I can look back and see facets of each of those careers in what I do as an entrepreneur.
The one consistent theme throughout my childhood & life has been my desire to be where big and bold things are happening — as well as to disrupt old models and solutions in favor of more innovative, inclusive & supportive ones.
