Today we’d like to introduce you to Lourdes Ramirez.
Hi Lourdes, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story starts in Costa Rica, where I was born and raised. My parents were always an example of responsibility, hard work and discipline.
At the age of 23, I decided to leave Costa Rica and started a new adventure in the US. I quickly learned that life can be tough but that I am very strong as well. While in Washington DC, I taught myself English and eventually became a pre-K teacher.
In my early 30s, I moved to Austin with my two children. I was a single mom and independent woman, looking for new and brighter horizons. I wanted to grow and continue to prove myself. I took on a new challenge and went back to school to get my Real Estate License. I had been building this dream of owning my own business for a while. I love being my own boss, the owner of my time and my own power. I can tell that hard work, passion and discipline are the mantras that keep me going everyday.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Being a single mom and an immigrant living in a foreign country comes with its difficulties but it also challenged me to work harder. I was continuously soul searching to figure out what I wanted in life, set my goals and then trying to fit them to my reality and my possibilities. After being a teacher for many years, I knew I needed a change. I had to prove myself that it’s never too late to do something different and that there’s not a single reason to stop growing as a person. I had been always curious about Real Estate. A different world with endless opportunities, especially in a growing city like Austin. I decided to take a leap of faith feeling confident that it was a good fit for me because I’m an educator by nature and love meeting new people.
As you know, we’re big fans of RA Residential. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a realtor with RA Residential. We are a team of passionate, experienced and diligent agents ready to help buyers, sellers and investors in the world of residential real estate. We enjoy creating bonds with our clients, listening deeply and helping them find exactly what they want while assisting them through the entire process. A particular interest of mine is helping young adults that are going through this for the first time. Also, being fluent in English and Spanish has given me the advantage to connect with a broader set of clients.
