Today we’d like to introduce you to Nia Malika “Toi” Gossett.
Hi Nia Malika “Toi”, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started Platinum Emage over 15 years ago with Pop Up Events. During that time, I assisted as an Event Planner with weddings, birthdays, baby showers, etc.
In the last eight years, I created a platform for small business, who could participate in events and parties as vendors and would be selected by clients of Platinum Emage.
Today, I have a team of over 40 business owners that I support and create events for them to network, expand their business and brand.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are challenges in this industry of Event Planning, especially when the market is heavily saturated. A lot of my business colleagues are in the same industry.
My challenges have been a “targeted audience”, following and valuable content. In planning my last event a few weeks ago, I was able to these challenges to work. I had some success and still more work to do.
Another challenge I noticed is that small business owners have encountered so many problems with “so called event host/promoters”, scamming them out of their money by creating “fake” events or postponing events with a “non refundable” clause or resolution.
As I mentioned before it’s a saturated industry and it can be hard to determine if you’re partnering up with the right event, business partners or even clients. Making the wrong decision can cost you more than your business.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Platinum Emage is a multi-business company that specializes in “networking”, “branding” and “business support” with Pop Up Events and more.
I am the CEO and created “Team Platinum Emage” to assist small business owners in increasing sales, customers, expanding their brand and business goals.
Platinum Emage specializes in Pop Up Events and is known for client-hired events requiring vendors.
What sets me apart from others is that I designed a platform that creates opportunities for small business owners to be displayed on my website with their preferred web link, design individual promotions, create events and assists on any goals they need “FREE” of charge.
I am proud of the image and the referrals of business that Platinum Emage received. I’m told on many occasions that they are happy to work with me, that I’m a class act and that no one would do the things I do.
Platinum Emage is very interested in expanding our team. There is a FREE membership available for any small business owner that is interested. The only requirement is that you “SUPPORT”, “SHARE” so we all can have “SUCCESS”.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
My advice for finding a mentor would include individuals that believe and supports your ideas. You need guidance and support no matter what you are trying to do. Mentoring or support can build on what you need and provide opportunities of growth in the areas needed. If you can’t find inspiration or motivation in those individuals, move on until you do!!
I have several people that I share with from family members to business colleagues. I can honestly say that those relationships created the journey I’m on now. I thank God and them daily.
