Meet Ulises Noyola of Noyola Landscaping

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ulises Noyola.

Hi Ulises, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My father, Salomon Noyola, actually started by this business when I was only a few years old, he started picking up his own side jobs on the weekends, and for the last 10 years, it has become his full-time job as well as mine. I started helping him out as a kid, and I think it really taught me a lot about honest work and how money is earned as well as being responsible since our business depends on our decisions. I have been running it alongside him now as a co-owner now for the last 4 years full time, and I’ve begun to try and bring ourselves into a more modern and competitive look and business model. We have always been word of mouth and spent no money on advertising, and it’s honestly worked for us because our work and results really do all the talking for us. However, if I really want to grow the business and make into something bigger, I’ve now been taking steps to prepare social media pages, business cards, and eventually a web page and ads

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road; landscaping businesses can be easily impacted by things that are way out of our control. We rely on if people need us and when projects come up, but it’s not always a guaranteed thing. That’s why we have to expand and grow our client list as well as services we offer to make sure we are always busy.

We’ve been impressed with Noyola Landscaping, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Noyola Landscaping is a full-service lawn and outdoor services company. If it’s outside in your yard, we probably work on it. We make our clients’ visions for their home into a reality, and we maintain what we create. From simple lawn maintenance to a full blows landscaping remodel, we strive to leave it better than before. Our work is our advertising, so we always make sure to do our best.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Risk-taking, I believe is one of the most important parts of business. It doesn’t necessarily mean always taking on risky business decisions, but it does mean getting on top of ones you believe will benefit you and your business. Sometimes you have to invest in tools that might seem expensive at first but will eventually earn their worth back in no time. Sometimes you have to hire help you can’t yet afford fully, but they’ll help you earn more money and make it worthwhile. Scared money doesn’t make money.

Pricing:

  • Basic lawn care starts at $45
  • Power washing driveways starts at $100 per 1000sqft
  • Mulch prices vary from 130-150 a yard depending on quantity bought
  • Most other work is by quote as no 2 yards are the same.
