Hi AmberD, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started Fab Like Me Boutique LLC in July 2019 after a few failed attempts at entrepreneurship. I always knew I wanted to have my own business but it took some trial and error to figure out the right fit for me. I took some time to really get to know myself and how I wanted to proceed before starting again because I didn’t want to quit this time around.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve definitely run into some struggles on this journey. Most of what I’ve learned as a business owner came from correcting my own mistakes, doing lots of research and continuously trying new things. I didn’t have a lot of business owners in my family to watch and learn from so I kinda had to figure out the what and how myself.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m addicted to hobbies; I have lots of them!! I like to consider myself a creative soul. I’m an advocate for self-investment and putting in the time and effort into getting to know yourself on a deeper level. I truly believe that trying new things is what helped me find myself and my true passions in life, which ultimately led me to finding the right business for me. I incorporate all of this into my boutique by offering chic and sophisticated pieces that easily transition from day to night and work to weekend, all while being incredibly affordable!!
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love how diverse the greater Austin area is!! You can find so many different cultures and activities going on at any given time. Especially now that people are starting to get together again.
Some of the outside adventures are hard to enjoy for people with allergies like me. I either have to load up on allergy medication before certain things or sometimes I have to leave early.
