Small Business of the Day: Conversations with Kaneeka Moore of Nail-ish

Today’s Small Business of the Day features an interview with Kaneeka Moore. Please find our conversation below.

We’re thrilled to have the chance to ask you some fun questions today, but before we get started, can you introduce Nail-ish to our readers.
I created Nail-ish ✌🏾 to embody everything that I love‼️ Which is beauty, fashion, nails, and all things art. I originally started with custom Press on nails and then started my own unique handmade jewelry line. My fashion bags and clothes are from third parties. But I make sure they are unique. What makes my brand unique is how I design my pieces. I like to make a lot of one-of-a-kind pieces. I don’t like being like ANYONE else, so I like for my brand to stand out and give other people the freedom to stand out and be different as well. That is why I believe my clients love my brand. Most brands sell/make the same pieces and sell them to many different people over and over. I like to think of most of my pieces as collectibles.

What is the most important lesson you’ve learned building your business that you can share with those just starting out in their entrepreneurial journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned would be to ask for help! Most times us entrepreneurs have to wear every hat in the business, from CPA to Marketing. Burnout is a REAL thing‼️ I know we may not always have the extra funds starting off as a small business to outsource a lot of the things we need. But we have to utilize the people and resources we do have. Sometimes, we may overlook a friend, family member, or colleague that may be able to assist us. And there is also bartering for services amongst other entrepreneurs. Don’t be afraid to collaborate with other creatives/entrepreneurs. “Closed mouths don’t get feed.”

Alright, before we go, let’s do a quick lightning round.
